So as an outsider what will it take to see the Kings in the playoffs every year now that they have a much stronger foundation with Tyreke and possibly JT and KM? Looking over the history of your gm, he seems to be a little more of a 'hit' on trades and a 'miss' on some free agent signings and does great at drafting. My Bucks are kind of in the midst of a '2011' plan to have as much cap room in 2011 as possible (for whateer reason) . So is there some sort of 'plan' in Sacramento that would bolster the team to a perennial playoff team?

Re-integrate 2006 Martin, we need another scoring guard, and get a starting caliber big man. He no longer needs to be great defender, with Greene/Casspi at the 3 and JT/Hawes at the 4 or 5 we are protecting the rim good enough, we need someone with physical mass to front in the post on defense, rebound, and score, like Boozer.

The key is a 3rd big big man in our rotation that can be a defensive anchor consistently and allowing the rest of our young talent to blossom.

Exactly. Honestly, thats our biggest need right now. Guys like Okafor push us around down low. We need someone like him down low. Hawes is the only legit 7 footer and he seems to get pushed around.

Other than that, we alot of young pieces, we just need to sit back and see how good they can become.

The other thing is that now that Evans has become our go to guy and main ball handler the teamwill be much more effective when martin plays off the ball. Martin should return to his days where he came off screens to shoot & and recieves screen passes on his way to the basket. If the kings can find a decent 3rd bigman they should be looking at the playoffs next year. Between our capspace and our picks the kings should be in great shape in 2010.

Yeah, I have this feeling that Martin's going to be bailing out Evans and the Kings a lot, when teams adjust to Evans' drives and seal off a decent shot. Martin's GREAT at moving to the open passing lane to receive the ball(that's an important skill that's directly related to Bball IQ - moving to a place where the ball handler has a good angle to pass you the ball after the defense collapses). To either get an open look 3 or to then pump fake(and draw a foul) and drive to the basket to finish or get fouled by a defense that's just been broken down by the man 'Rekeing Havoc.

So you guys think you need a reliable big man to get your team into at least the playoffs. So what who do you consider options for that role? I've heard Dalembert and Okafor rumors in connection to Sacramento, is there options in free agency for you guys (not familiar with your cap) or do you see your team adding more of a piece and not a superstar (like an Etan Thomas type player)? As a fan I can understand shooting for the stars (Boozer, Bosh, etc...) but what do you guys realistically see your team doing to fill this hole?

There are a ton of options and possibilities currently. We're overloaded at the wings (or at least will be when Martin and Cisco return), so trading one of them (I think we're pretty much all hoping for Noc) for a big is the main concern. Noc for a veteran big maybe for the time being (or just clearing his salary would be nice). But other possibilities include using our cap space (we do have a chunk of cap space this year, but not a ton) for a signing or a trade, and of course the draft.

There are not alot of true centers in the NBA i think the organization will wait awhile to pull the trigger on trades to get a feel for were our record stands i feel no matter what we wont take on a longterm high salary contract unless the guy is relatively young & can help us longterm.
If we take on any older vets i believe their contract will be short terms being their last year or 2 year contracts .

If we traded for a veteran Center i can see us going after Ziggy from the cavs Zylgauskus for Noc or however you spell it however i think if Cisco comes back & plays really well he could be traded just as much a Noc i am very much pleased with Green's progress & Casspi's play as a Rookie !
