Excited about the Kings again?!

I am! I actually look forward to seeing them play tough teams now. I think they have a chance to sneak up on anyone. They look like they're trusting each other a lot. I might be biased.. but I'm thinking they could get that 8th spot. haha If they keep fighting.. they're only 2 games below .500. I know the last couple of years that wasn't even something to think of. It's nice to flirt with the idea of making the playoffs. I hope these players believe they can make it too. I'm excited to see how Kmart and Cisco can fit into the system. It's also nice to know.. the Kings do have nice talent that could trade for good talent as well. Petrie is doing it again? Remaking the Kings of old. Omri Casspi!! Wow.. This guy plays hard.
I don't post much anymore.. but hopefully the board starts getting more positive about their Kings now! I have no one to talk about the Kings with where I live.. =\
Anyways.. It's finally fun to watch them on TV again.
Go Kings!

I don't know if "excited" is the right word (it takes a lot to get me excited). I am very encouraged for the future, though. I like the progress that most of the guys are showing and can't wait to see them build better chemistry as a group.

Translation...Most of us get exited at the BEGINNING of the season and not when the team looks good.

This is my first post even though i've been lurking through the site for years now.
EXCITED!?!? I'm estatic with how the kings have been playing. I'm just worried about how cisco and kmart will fit in when they're back. I don't want Omri's minutes go away.
We sure do have a bright future.

Well.. maybe excited was too extreme.. i'm happy for this team.. and the direction they are going in.
I live in SoCal.. =(
Soo it's mostly extremely biased Laker fans who know nothing about anything besides Kobe.. with the exception of the Laker fans who actually know basketball.. and then Clippers fans.. gross.. lol

Some of you guys have it rough, but you guys don't know what it was like sleeping with a Lakers fan every night. It was a period of hormones over logic.
Anyway, I would say HELL YEA I'm excited again.

Well they will be.
When Tyreke gets a jumper that he is comfortable with this team will soar. You are in a tough tough divsion and conference so it might take longer to see them climb up the standings, especially when Blake Griffin gets back, in LA...but they are going to be entertaining again.
You will still need a star to go with Evans. I am not sure who they will be. Jason Thompson to me is a combo guy to back up both positions. He will do for now, but you will need a knockout wing at SF or PF to really climb up...
I like Hawes but he too is a backup.
If somehow you can go out and steal Andrew Bynum from the Lakers do it! Then demand that Donte Green elevate his game on both ends, and you have enough at the other spots when Garcia returns...and then draft another shooter.
I like Beno Udrich with that second group...If you can get Mike Bibby back somehow to start and make a trade for Bynum and luck out in the draft again, you are on your way.
But you need more legit 'bigs' to battle the Nuggets, Lakers, Spurs, Rockets, Blazers, and Jazz, and Rockets (next year) if not the LA Clippers....
Not guys who get in Tyreke's way with the ease he can get to the rim, but it will force him to work on his shot on his perimeter defense if he has a guy who has his back... But Martin must go.

dude...you are talking crazy....JThompson is gonna be a beast.....he's already demonstrating he's completely capable of manning that 4 spot.....and he's demonstrating he can take care of business at the center spot as well.....both in a starting role.........we already have the core for the future....its just a matter of giving us time to get a few seasons under our belts and things will start to happen......martin doesn't have to go.....at least for now (we have to wait and see how he plays with reke.....which i'm predicting will work out perfectly.....especially after tyreke perfects his stroke.....the only thing i give you is the hawes argument.....he's the only one i see from the core that might not be suitable for the starting spot.....though im not making an argument to trade him.....i still think he has a place in this organization and will produce for us in the long run....being from a starting or a bench role...i dunno why you are saying martin has to go...you aren't even a kings fan...what are you talking about mike bibby....that's the last thing this team should do....this is a fresh team....and if we are going to bring a bibby personality its gonna be once we get into the second round of the playoffs consistantly that we would need a versatile guard with clutch performance in the playoffs.....other than that we would have basically NO USE for a mike bibby on this team.....i agree we need another big guy....but will get him in the draft......we should have a solid big man rotation of hawes, JT, brockman, donte (if he develops a sort of dirk nowitzki game & posts up, then takes the other team's 4 of the dribble to the basket) and the guy we draft (i don't think we'll get favors but we'll get someone good.....petrie is a great drafter, and next year's draft is said to be loaded w/ bigs so i don't understand some arguments to trade martin for a higher draft pick.....we have a first round pick i suspect will be in the 10-15 range.....we don't need someone else's pick we'll draft the right guy with ours).....with that big man rotation, next season we should see the kings building on this season's success (right i mean.....if all goes well and we finish like we are looking to finish)....its all coming together for the kings soon.......i understand bynum is a beast, but i also understand the lakers will not trade their center of the future....also....i wouldn't take anything from the lakers ever....i hate the lakers...i'm sure everyone here does as well (not to say that everyone here shares my same opinion on taking lakers players)....so right....tahnx for the breath of fresh air....it's always nice to see fellow nba fans take interest in our success, your opinions are always welcome.....but in this specific ocassion i would say the kings are not as desperate as you make them out to be (desperate enough to change its entire starting lineup w/ the exception of evans)....i would suggest worrying about how milwaukee should get out of their funk of having mike redd back and you guys losing games (although you did win last night so congratulations on that)...

Jason Thompson came into the league with NO hype. I remember when the call came by Stern:
"With the 12th pick the Sacramento Kings select Jason Thompson." I was like who's that? Point being is that unless people see him play and succeed night in and out they aren't going to give him credit. He didn't go to an ACC or Big East school. He wasn't high on a lot of draft boards. He's not going to get credit for potential.
JT is the 4 for the future. In year two he's made a big jump in production. I don't think an all star appearance is crazy talk for him either. I'd like to see him get even better at scoring on the block though.

I wrote an article for RealGM that pretty much captures everything I feel about this team and excitement.
