What the hell? I mean good for Omri, but what the hell? Tyreke is one of the main reasons Omri is able to get as many good shots as he does.

There will be some who will disagree on you, but nevertheless it shouldn't lessen from Omri's great achievement as for the last 5 games (3 of them without evans) he performs well every night.

Tyreke is obviously #1. This is just another one of those moves ESPN like to do to have people talking.

And can someone with insider post Thorpe's analysis for both of them?

Thorpe is a huge homer when it comes to his players. Casspi worked with Thorpe in Florida during the summer. It is obvious that Evans is #1 and Casspi is around #3-#4.

Tyreke is #1, Jennings is #2, and Casspi has got to be #3. I mean, who is over Casspi? I can't think of one that really deserves it.

But Casspi over the last week has been the best, so I agree with this if it's a continous updating list lol.

Well deserving for Casspi! This guy is nba ready. Once he can develop more handles and able to post up defenders at a better rate, he'll be in great shape.

Can you imagine a prime Evans, JT Casspi lineup???

Casspi's last 4 games have been phenomenal! Listen, we got 3 rookies that will be playing in this league for a looooooong time and we should be proud and happy of that!

Agreed. I think he is deserving, but in the grand scheme of things he is the 3rd best rookie right now. It could change by seasons end, and barring a slump in my mind he is top 5 rookie. We havn't seen Griffin, so its hard to comment on that.

But it really is incredible his impact. When we drafted him, I thought he could be this good, but in like 3 years. Not 30 games into the season. It may be cliche, but he does seem to get better and better.

If you go by the starts Casspi's 18-5-2 47.6%fg 48.8% 3pointers (yes, higer 3 point percentage than overall fg%), and 78% ft's. It makes sense, since that is mostly the last few games, it makes sense. They go by recent performances, and Reke has missed a few games.

I'd say Casspi is number two behind Evans. Jennings' FG% has been BAD since his hot start and it keeps falling. He's still a good pick, but I don't think he can be mentioned with Evans anymore. Even Lawson has been looking better than him and once Griffin comes back, you'll hardly hear about Jennings.

i'd say no way omri is 1st, he is clearly the 3rd best rookie in this class, reke and BJ being the 1-2 respectively.

I think Omri being an Israeli has something to do with this great over-sympathy he's geting from ESPN. Reke is the ROY! Ps: i love Omri and his play, i just think he's no Tyreke

Haha Thorpe is such a homer.

But, in all seriousness, Omri is most definitely the third best rookie for the season so far. And, he had a great week so he is #1 for this week. Kudos.

Thorpe is a moron. His player evaluations are consistently awful. He should just stick to being a trainer because as an analyst he's been an epic failure.

Omri is finisher and a hustle player, he spots up for shots, position himself for alley oops runs, the fast break and fights for boards, he's not a creator of offense of enforcer on defense, this type of player never gets MVP or ROY honors (which is kinda like MVP between rookies), I think they just want to give him recognition for is play as of late, and not considering giving him the trophy.

I cringe when I watch Omri try to create his own shot. He's not that bad in the post except when he tries those Jordan fades, but oh my god those finger rolls lol. I do like that he's not afraid, and I think eventually he'll be able to do them(talking about the post shots), which will be awesome.

Have I been watching a different player? Omri's game looks a little awkward and herky-jerky sometimes (kind of reminds me of Ginobili in a way), but it's been pretty damn effective so far. In the Phoenix game, he wasn't really hitting from the outside in the first half. Most of his shots came from the inside and IIRC, he had like 12 first half points.

Yeah, he just looks a little unorthodox, I guess. But, I'm not going to complain unless it gets less effective. So far, it works for me.

ok...this is just recent...everybody knows tyreke is the best rookie of his class.....let's not get into an argument over that...cause it really is no argument, however omri has been playing great and he deserves the recognition....i'm happy for him and happy that out of the top 3 rookies sacramento has 2....no other team in the league can say that about their rookies....we should be joyous for this!!!!!
