Along with Greene, Brockman, Garcia and arguably the new and improved Beno Udrih, yeah, that's pretty much the core moving forward, I'd say.

The size of this Kings team reminds me of the young core of the Champion Piston teams. They punished anyone who came into the paint.

1 Evans/Beno
2 Martin/Garcia
3 Casspi/Greene
4 JT/Brockman
5 Hawes/Armstrong

Evans looks like a bigger Chuancey Billups. JT/Casspi/Brockman/Greene already know how to punish people in the paint. Hawes will come along also. Armstrong I'm sure will also help them in the paint. This team is improving in the paint on defense on a daily basis.

This is such a huge team at all 5 positions like the Pistons.

I am so excited the direction this franchise is headed.

Don't forget that Nocioni has been known to commit a foul or two to shut down the lane!

I think logically Evans, Martin, Casspi, JT, Hawes, Beno, Donte, Cisco, and Brockman is the core to stick with moving forward. Thomas has been a goner for years now without actually going anywhere. Nocioni is a trade chip IMO. Udoka is a solid, experienced player but a temporary solution - same for Rodriguez. And May, well he should have never even been signed in the first place. As far as Armstrong, I think he holds his own destiny (if he plays decent he might just stick around, but thats a big "IF").

I have to agree with cdt3 on being excited about the direction of the Kings. It wasn't too long ago when we were considered " too small" and had problems matching up with a lot of other teams. Now its as if the tables are beginning to turn and teams are starting to have problems matching up with us. IMO we are seriously just one dominant big man away from being a playoff contending team next season.
