The Sacramento Kings are beginning their longest road swing of the season, and Kevin Martin(notes) is coming along for more than just moral support.Martin is expected to play for the first time in more than two months as the Kings kick off a six-game trip against the lowly Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.

Where's all the images and stuff man!? Lol.
I am also excited, I can actually watch the Kings on tv! I was supposed to be at this game but the plans fell thru.
Also a return home for Tyreke and Jason! Hope they both have huge games.
Via Sam Amick's twitter tonight will be the 17th different starting lineup. It appears Kevin Martin is starting along with Evans, JT, Hawes, and Casspi! Let the backcourt experiment of Kev and Reke begin! I am so excited for the game! Should be a great weekend! I also have my bday coming up!

Go Kings!

God we need revenge for that terrible display earlier this year.

Martin is already starting? I know he's arguably our second best player and all, but you have to take team chemistry and continuity into account.
Anyway, I agree with NNN. The last time we met was one of our worst games this season, so I hope we bring it tonight and it's important to start this road trip off on the right foot.

Ya I am pretty surprised that Martin is starting already. I guess my 6th man idea is already done.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprise that Martin is going to start. When he returned from his injuries the last couple of years, he came from the bench. And slowly he is up to speed with his teammates with a couple of games under his belt.
I'm curious to see how this will develop. But IMO I doubt this will cause a negative effect to the team.

I would agree with you if we had had even a remotely consistent starting lineup up to this point, but we really haven't. There isn't much to disrupt.

Sounds like this is the starting lineup I hope to see for the next several years. I really hope this goes well. I also hope that Martin is ready and wants to be the 2nd banna. If he is willing to do that we should be pretty dangerous.

Mixed start for Kev. His D has looked pretty good. Started with missing a couple of makable shots, but they were basically the right shots for him to take. But he made that 3, and made a very nice, difficult entry pass to JT on that post up.

I disagree with the D. He left Williams open for a three and he let AI penetrate once or twice to create for Dalembert I think it was. Other than, little problem with Martin so far.

I would worry more about who is starting if the team was playing with any real consistency and making a conscious push towards the playoffs. On the current path I don't think it matters much if Martin starts today or next month. What matters is guys playing together and making some determinations on who really is the core for the future and who is trade bait.
Glad to see we are starting out staying close. As long as we don't go into full meltdown and look like pathetic blobs, I'll be happy. I'll even take a win for a bonus.

Obviously you are watching a different game.

Williams was the one creating for Dalembert I believe, and I think it was when Tyreke was guarding him. Kevin let AI penetrate once that I recall--when Spencer fouled him.
And leaving Williams open for 3 is generally a good idea, strategically.

Coming from the guy who thinks Westphal sucks... Anyway, I already said I had little problem with him so far.

It may have been Williams, but I know it wasn't Tyreke who was defending him, I know that for a fact. Overall, the effort on defense as a team hasn't been stellar.

Well crappy end to the quarter. Lots of careless turnovers and missed shots offensively, and then we just aren't getting back in transition, which is a huge key against this team. If we keep them in the half court, they should be much less effective offensively.

Anyone else think that maybe Tyreke's ankle is affecting him a little bit? I don't see him limping at all, but he's just not finishing at the rim like he can.

I almost hate to admit this, but it looked like the best lineup on the floor was Evans and Martin together at the same time. Having either of them hanging around opened things up for the both of them.

That might be part of it. I think we're also seeing some of the effects of having good shotblocking around the basket. Guys like Dalembert don't necessarily need to be in the right position in terms of stopping Tyreke to affect shots at the rim. If he did have to be in the right position and was in the right position, Tyreke would be more effective at passing out on those penetrations.
Anyway, a mediocre half over all. The main thing over all is turnovers. We have to be more careful with the ball and get back in transition. Defensively, we need to just pack the paint more in the half court. They only took 2 3's in this half. We should be tempting them--daring them to repeat what they did in Arco. This is even truer if they continue to keep Kapono on the bench.
Offensively, it's mostly just been a problem of execution. The sixers deserve some credit for playing well defensively, but we just have have to careful about certain passes, and we need to just make some more of our shots. It's pretty much that simple. I'd also like to see Spencer get some time in the post, although he is mostly playing pretty well at the high post right now. But, more than anything, this will likely come down to Tyreke finishing better around the basket, or perhaps anticipating the D more effectively and making the right pass at the right time.

I didn't say that, hes doing a good job. but i think he can do much better job executing the game plan on both ends of the floor...
Some fans must stand and be the one to hold coaches to a higher standard.
