Petrie @ Kentucky Wildcats game

Post#1 » by king125 » Wed Feb 3, 2010 12:50 am

I am watching the Ole Miss / Kentucky game and they showed GP watching the game. They said there were 8 GM's at the game. Wonder who he is looking at?

haha so sayyyyyy since we don't NEED the first pick but because of that we do get it...

Big man, or Wall? Necessity or best available? Obviously hes a ball dominant player too and i know most of the people agree we got evans dont need another (martin situation)... but just as a what if? value wise... what would you do if u were in Petries shoes.

Always go with BPA. And ship Martin out. Or run with a three guard lineup with Wall/Martin/Evans. Or adjust Martin to 6th man role.

Or trade Wall for need. Wall for Brook Lopez and change?

A lot of options to go from IMO.

How about all of the above! It's obvious we will be a lottery team. It's obvious Geoff has homework to do.

If we land the 1st pick I'm all for trading down because it would be a bad move to put wall and Evans in the back court together they both need the ball to be successful.

I say we trade down a couple spots and grab bunch of extra value.
Options
nets pick & lopez
for
wall & hawes

warriors pick & curry
for
wall pick

b griffin & clippers pick
for
wall Donte Greene

I just think we should really look at the options we would have if we landed the 1st overall pick. There is also the option that Petrie likes wall more than Evans and we look to move Evans instead.

All of those would be amazing but the only one I see plausible is the Curry one.

It would be so ironic to win the lottery.

I haven't seen John Wall play yet.

Would anyone want to keep him if he got drafted, and trade Evans?

He's one of those guys with lots of skill and potential and is considered a sure fire star. But we already have Evans and he also has star level potential I would rather keep Evans because of his attitude and calm demenor and he's already a known comodity.

I would not have a problem with trading Wall and Hawes for Brook Lopez and nets pick (another top 5)

Evans
Martin
casspi
jt
Lopez

top 5 pick
free agent

next year would be grrreat

If you decide to trade a #1 with a surefire guy like Wall, it becomes like when Webber was the #1 and traded. You get a lower pick player (i.e. - Cousins) and at least two if not three future #1's for him. That kind of player is like Evans is for us - a franchise changing/caliber guy. There isn't a GM out there that wouldn't EASILY give up that package for him.

Good to see Petrie checking out Cousins. He has the chance to be the next great passing big IMO.

I think Cousins would be a great piece to add to the frontline. Cousins/Hawes/Thompson would be solid 96 mintues from the PF/C position.
