Would this be enough to get it done?
Rockets trade:
Shane Battier, Luis Scola, 1st round pick (13-15)
Kings trade:
Kevin Martin

NO
Simply because anyteam that would get MARTIN by trade would be required to take on NOCIANI as well !
That said it seems like MARTIN will remain a KING unless the KINGS get blown away with a great offer !

I dont see the Kings getting much more from a guy thats missed 166 games in 5 years.

Cool, we'd rather have 25 ppg on a TS% of over 60% anyways. See ya!

I don't see the Kings trading Martin for "win now" players. More ideally, the Kings are looking for youth, picks, cap flexibility packages.
Both Battier and Scola are veterans (age-wise) Battier is 31 going 32. Scola is 29 going 30. And I don't see what Scola provides anything that Thompson already is producing. Adding an aging Scola is redundant for us IMO.

Frosty you can argue your point all you want but it takes 2 to tango and the KINGS would never do a trade with MARTIN without the team taking ion NOCIANI
So the KINGS would decline

First of all I don't think Kevin will be traded.
Second of all I doubt there is any sort of rule in the Kings front office that says you must take Nocioni.
Third of all I think the package offered is actually pretty decent value wise. The problem is, as someone already stated, this packages value to the Kings is significantly less than it might be to other teams. Scola and Battier are good players but they're really best suited to good teams where they can contribute to a championship, not here on a rebuilding team.

I like it if we werent trying to dump noc. I would also rather swap Ariza for battier tho. Maybe the thing that will save martin is that we are more focused on dumping noc.

GP would do this in a flash! Scola and Battier are both hard nosed veterans + a 1st. Thats a nice return for KMart.

Well i am really confident NOCIANI gets dealt i believe he will get dealt to either
houston
spurs or
boston
just my feeling
the trade as frosty said is not a good one for us considering we are not even a likely playoff team this year & unless things dramatically change we wont be next year either though i believe we will be much closer next season .

I don't think that Petrie would really be interested in Veterans right now. We have a nice young core developing and I don't think he would want to get veterans that aren't going to be here for very long. I like the pick in this deal but i would much rather have Landry in the trade than Scola. Battier is ok but I would rather take a crap expiring contract than get Battier because of our wing glut at this point.
I think we should change the trade like this. It would actually be of interest to the kings then.
Kings IN
C Landry
Blake
Outlaw
Hou 1st
Kings out
Martin
Rockets IN
Martin
Rockets Out
Landry
Battier
1st
Blazers IN
Battier
Blazers Out
Outlaw
Blake
KIngs net Landry and a late 1st and can cut blake and Outlaw immediately.
Rockets upgrade their wing rotation and get an elite level scorer
Blazers get a great complimentary wing player on a reasonable 2 year contract.

Too bad.
Blake and Outlaw are the property of the Clippers now.

Yeah, I love it for the Blazers. They get a very good defensive player in Camby alongside with Aldridge.
I don't like it for the Clippers though.

I agree man i tell you I wish the KINGS could get so lucky in trades giving up nothing for a stud rebounder / shoptblocker & defender
