Sergio on the move?

According Sam Amick, there are preliminary talks of Sergio for (possible) TPE. Also, New Jersey and New York are garnering interest.
Kings are looking at a Sergio Rodriguez deal with Memphis, most likely for a trade exception. #nbakings
Would save them his expiring salary the rest of the year and Sergio would certainly be happier. New York and New Jersey have also inquired.

I wish RealGM had a face palm smiley for posts like these.

If you know AriesMar27's history, he isn't too fond in Sacramento's direction.

I am wondering if PETRIE does this deal
A. Is this just setting up a much bigger trade involving the KINGS
&
B. If we aquired this exemption can it be dealt immediatly in another deal ?
anyone know the answer to B ?

Saving $$$, nothing more. They probably get cash with any deal too since cash is king in Maloof land. Kind of sucks that we could have had Blair but wanted Sergio for some reason, eh, oh well, at least we have Brockman, that is until a team offers $50 and a gold tooth for him.

I wouldn't trade Beno if I were Petrie. If Martin's moved we already know he can Tyreke work very well together and I have no doubts his value will sky rocket with the type of playing time he was receiving at the start of the year. If Martin isn't moved then I'd consider dealing him for something else.

If there's a deal with Memphis and they don't have a trade exception I wouldn't mind picking up Haddadi.

While you may be entitled to your own opinion, you are not allowed to fabricate your own facts. The team has already surpassed last year's win total with 30 games left and are still on pace to win 28 games this season. That is undeniable evidence that the team has in fact gotten better! Or are you using some sort of touchy-feely fantasy math that never has a wrong answer if you wish hard enough that your answer is correct?

Worst comment ever. but ya, hes a bad GM who passed on the ricky rubio hype for the super star tyreke, drafted casspi who many thought wasnt an nba player. lets go back further and look at k mart and garcia who were later 1st rounders.
Lets even look at the team that was built in our hayday. what an awful team, especially when petrie traded williams for bibby. That was a championship team, but petrie is still bad since he didnt factor in the refs when we played the lakers.

Sergio is a nice player and all but I'm sure someone is going to offer him more than the qualifying offer and we will lose him anyways (Kings wont match), so anything we get for him even if its just to save some money is a good move.

Nice, spanish chocolate getting the Memphis treatment. Funny how things like this work out.

I hope S-Rod ends up in Memphis, he would be a GREAT back-up PG for them. I think he deserves more playing time here (he's the best "true" PG we have), but not enough minutes for him with Martin back...

I uploaded his debut at the ACB league at the age of 17 at the last minute of the 2003/4 final after several players where ejected as a result of the fight.
The end of this game was shown at the halftime of Barcelona vs Estudiantes game few days ago and I took it from there.
For those who are not familiar with the European basketball, a lot of big names there on the field, including Bodiroga who consider by many the best European player who never played at the NBA.

we have the cap space to just take him outright (i.e. for the ever-coveted year 2020 2nd protected to 59 or some such), but I did notice something at the Griz/Suns game last night. Haddadi was not in the building to my knowledge. I don't have seats super close to the bench, so I could very well be wrong, and have heard no one else mention this, but I did think it worth noting anyway. likely means nothing, the guy could have the flu for all I know, but at deadline time, I always notice that kind of stuff.
