No, must be some sort of injury, Scoot was out the most recent game too

Fanbo Zeng finally had a couple of good games, the general skill set is intriguing but he looked overwhelmed for most of the season, maybe he can put together something late in the year?

Man all these guys are pretty hard to gauge because the context is so different from the other prospects, and it doesn't help that almost all of them have weird lines / skill set mix.

Of the kids, outside of Zeng (who hasn't played a lot relatively speaking) all of them shoots HORRIFICALLY from 3, only Michael Foster barely cross even 30% from 3 (but his shot hardly looks like it inspire confidence to do a lot more than that.) As a result their typical game's spacing is just disastrous outside of the few rare game where either Zeng can stay on the floor or Hardy actually hits his shots. Of their vets Pooh Jeter hits 3s but isn't really much of a spacer (more pull ups), Malik Pope / Dakari Allen do decently but they're rarely on the floor together, so usually they have 1 to maybe 2 guys that can hit a 3 at all.

Michael Foster: you like his motor, but generally he can get pretty blinders on and the skill level isn't quiet at the level you'd like, of these somewhat undersized 4 types it either works surpringly well or not at all, he's one of those guys if you get him later in the draft you'll probably be happy but queezy at the top.

Beauchamp : kinda like a more wing version of Foster, the problem is shot is not super consistent. it might work well in a few years, it might not. he is like 2 years older though, so if you view him more in context of a 3rd year guy it starts to be ugly

Hardy: probably the #1 problem as the ball goes through him the most and he has more or less sucked, he can't hit enough shots to warrant guys to press up and then he drives a ton to bad effect, so he's not really creating much opening for the other guys so you do wonder if the more dependent players (like Zeng) 's general bad season has a lot to do with that.

Daniels: another super weird player where he does all the other things well but really suck at the stuff he needs to do that most (aka actually dribble in pressure and hit a shot from beyond 15 feet.) he works well when he can get a bit of advantage already going (which is hard given that Hardy isn't working out most of the time.) but the way he loses the ball a lot of time simply out of the dribble is scary.

Zeng: he has look overmatched quite often, but occasionally pops a few games where you remember that he's got this nice shot and good bounce and generally makes a lot of sense in theory. he's kinda in a bind as he's suppose to go back to the CBA if no one signs him, as he clearly needs a few more years of development but there's also enough there that's worth trying. If this was more of a MLB farm system situation you'd feel a lot better

Scoot: after the hot start its cooled off quiet a bit, still very impressive for his age but not like "omg he's definitely next Ja Morant" . Given that he's still a year away don't really care that much at this point.

I guess for the Scouts the first big question is "wtf is wrong with Hardy" and the second would be "how much should we think that Hardy's awful play is screwing up everyone else."

Don't like this class of Ignite kids.

Green was obviously on another planet that this year's group. And I think I liked Todd more last year than any of these kids this year.

Jaden Hardy's free throw shooting looks incredible. Any chance he's just on a 12 game shooting slump and that's why his jumpshot otherwise looks so terrible lol?

I'm a big fan of Beauchamps game. He's got an NBA body and a nice handle for his size. He'll be elite on D the second he walks into the league as well. He has a decent form, so his shot will probably develop over time.

Just saying. I think Daniels might have the best body language in this draft class, FWIW. Dude always has this look on his face of focus/determination. And he always has that same look all the time, regardless of whether his team is up 20 or down 20. I like that.

Seems really mature for a dude who just turned 19 and played the entire season at age 18.

I like Daniels. Not where the Pistons will be picking, but if Detroit could turn Jerami Grant into Daniels via a Portland pick and TPE, sign me up.

Daniels would be perfect next to Cade. Two big guards. So perfect.

I mean, the shooting def needs some work, but he’s 19. Rare to say it, but he needs to flatten his shot out a little (and speed it up).

But those two would be nice long term. Maybe a little too similar in style, but I’m ok with it.

I just think it is a good look to be in the playoffs and virtually nullify every little guard with questionable defense ability to play at all. It is what Luka does single handedly because he hunts them but with two, you do not give the other team a place to attack at all if you build your team out correctly.

Yes it is.... though there are a few key differenes. The biggest one being they try to recruit players who a few years ago would have played in college instead.

Dylan Daniels comp is reminding me of Beno Udrih who was drafted by spurs....ironically he's a pelicans development coach now

Regardless I think not worth the 8th overall pick - screams very average. some of these guys with height who can pass are going to be overeached in drafts as thats the new trend.
