He's not everyone's cup of tea but he is very interesting as a prospect.

No, he just looks like a bit smaller Keldon Johnson.

How's he comp to Ben Gordon/ Eric Gordon.....mid range would be nice but he can carve out an eric gordon role and explosive driver to the bucket

When do athletes this good not pan out ? ......handles can be improved. jordan had bad handles at unc

Dude hits the squat rack, he's got that lower body explosion of Wade, Oladipo, Lance Stephenson, Eric Gordon, Jason Richardson

Those guys with that lower body power usually work out well.......but they also all can usually drive to the rim- And Matherin supposedly can't ?

His prototype is one that usually needs to hone the 3 cause he has the physical skills - how is this kid not a self creator ? I'm reading scouting reports that he can't self create.

if its simply handles that should sort itself out.

I don't know how you can take a kid of his athletic prototype and be satisfied with him being the next tim hardaway the 3rd and chuck 3s and do nothing else......he's way too talented for that...And if that's the case I'd take Dalen Terry all day over him who is more efficient in his movements and has perfected the role of a role player and brings size.

Unless the sacramento kings with adelmen webber and vlade draft him and hit him on back- cuts , this dude is gonna be pretty average is what I'm reading.

Funny how it wasn't obvious to everyone much earlier.

He was drafted 6th overall. We all knew he would be good. You would be only be making a prediction if you said someone drafted that high would be a bust.

You all knew after he was drafted 6? Good call Big J. Your "clients" are so lucky to have you.

Also congrats on your first post in the Mathurin thread as well. Really nailed it.

Nice seeing him living up to the 6th pick. Always looked like a good prospect.

He has always obviously been a legit player. Guy has game. It doesn’t take long to see.

I was bummed he bailed out of last year’s draft because I felt he was ranked to low before dropping out. I would have loved for Sac to draft him last year.

In general I like the strategy of evaluating young guys with upside but outside the lotto/mid-first through the prism of…where would they go next year? It’s a good way to take a risk and grab guys in the late teens/twenties/thirties who could be top ten the next year.
