Shooting 46% from 3 with an assist rate of 34%.
That combination of shooting and passing is pretty nuts.
Most prospects have 1 or the other.
By comparison, Scoot is shooting 34% from 3, with an assist rate of 30%.
Cade shot 40% from 3 in college, with an assist rate of 20%.
Plus, Beekman has a steal rate of 3%, a block rate of 1.9%. He'll be 21 on draft night and has decent size at 6'3". Can play on ball or off ball. Just a high IQ guy who knows how to play, smart player - winner.
Someone could get a GOOD one in the 2nd round.

yes, been talking about for months now, wouldn't mind him at end of the 1st either for a team looking for a Tyus Jones type PG off the bench potentially

Reece Beekman - Virginia
unspectacular but does so many of the little things well, if I am team looking for a Tyus or Tre Jones type to come off the bench for me, or maybe even develop into a Jalen Brunson as a high end outcome, Beekman is probably my first choice in this class.
not sure he deserves a thread but making one anyways.

I think the Jones bros are his best outcome. Super smart and doesnt make mistakes and is a hell of a defender.
Definitely legit questions with him though, but ya worth a 2nd round flyer for sure. And ya wouldnt be shocked if he sticks on a roster being one of those super dependable back up PGs.

Beekman has more size than them which bodes well for his potential.
I like the comparison though.

it's funny, I've seen Beekman and coached teams against him since he was a 5th grader. He was always really good, but never spectacular/pop off the film even back then. He's just so solid all around. When old school coaches say things like "I don't want PGs or SGs, I just want guards" is what I think of when I think of Beekman.
