I mean he's definitely a better shooter right now.

I must have worded that poorly, as that wasn't the question I was looking to have answered. I agree Keyonte has things he's better at.

I see a pretty clear path to Allstar+ status for Scoot: don't be Trae on D, score at league average-ish efficiency on medium volume - largely self created, and be a very good to elite distributor. I don't think any of those are too wild of hopes for Scoot.

How does Keyonte get to Allstar+ level? What does a fringe All-NBA Keyonte George look like?

another name to throw out is Damian Lillard. Not as a ceiling or floor, just a player with some similar weaknesses. You might have to work a little harder than you do with Beal, but Keyonte could be a great shot creator in the P&R.

It was his coach. He was being held back. I would just just ignore those games tbh.

Nah. He struggled late in the season after suffering an ankle injury.

This isn't the worst comp ever, Keyonte definitely has some of the same stuff going on in the halfcourt, but he's way more CJ than Dame. Comps I have for him right now are CJ, Buddy Hield, young Harden, Eric Gordon, Mikal Bridges

I think the safest thing about Keyonte is how clean he is with the stepback. If he can make shots on the move, run off screens and get into that shot, he'll be set.

Keyonte (highlights only-that's why I'm asking) looks way more like rookie Cole Anthony...inefficient, wild, never met a bad shot he didn't like-but makes them often (maybe not over NBA defenders?) but has a very nice shooting stroke. I just wonder if he's that kid whose dominance tops out a little lower than NBA level. His skill set suggests less athletic Donovan Mitchell potential 3-level bucket getter. But there are a lot of G League level dominant guys that can't crack into a significant NBA role. He's intriguing.

Maybe a more similar is KPJ...puts up numbers, but is he "good"? No doubt that KPJ could go G-league and be likely MVP. Like Starbury in China.

I guess negative Scoot comparison would be Dennis Smith? I prefer Ja but hard to project. It seems to me like Scoot has those fierce intangibles and really knows how to use his burst and change of pace. Regardless of his dunk count, he's super-explosive.

Compared to Cole I would say Keyonte gets forced into tough shots as much as he likes them. He's kind of just amazing in space and doesn't do so well without it. So he's gonna go where you aren't more often than not. & he's already bad bad in the midrange. Something like 32%

Kind of reminds of Romelo Lukaku for Chelsea.. anyways

Don't even want to throw out an opinion on Scoot right now. but yeah although Keyonte is a pretty good all around athlete, he's hit a little bit of a ceiling in the NCAA
