Presti is great, but he has 1 team get to the finals ever. If being the best GM was about job security though he has a masterclass. Just keep getting future picks and you don't really have to win anything.

Agreed, he's done well drafting, but trading stars for a bunch of draft picks is literally the easiest thing to do as a GM. Also he somehow escapes blame for trading Harden because of a cheap owner even though his dumbass is the one who gave Kendrick Perkins a big extension right before the Harden trade.

I'd say that these are the types of low information, garbage posts that exclusively litter the GB, but after perusing the Scoot "small for a point guard" Henderson dumpster fire I know that not to be the case.
I have to point out that for years RealGM'ers gargled Hinkie's balls for "trading stars for a bunch of draft picks" in order to build a second round exit team. Anyways...
...To further illustrate how exceptionally awful these posts are, let's take a quick look at Presti post-Harden trade:
Loses in the WCF to the team with the most regular season wins in NBA history.
Durant leaves for said winningest regular season team.
Ibaka is traded for Oladipo and a lottery pick (Domantas Sabonis)
Oladipo and Sabonis are traded for PG13.
PG13 is traded to the team he requested, returning SGA and a bunch of picks.
Instead of watching Westbrook turn into the worst contract in the NBA, he trades him for CP3 and a couple of picks.
At this point Presti has constructed a first round exit team out of the ashes of the previous Westbrook/PG13 first round exit team, only this time with a #1 guy to build around (SGA) and a bunch of picks.
CP3 wants to play for a contender and is traded to PHX for Rubio, Oubre, and a couple of picks.
Rubio and Oubre are traded for, guess what, more picks.
Al Horford is traded for along with a 1st rounder. Then Al Horford is traded away, netting another first round pick.
Presti continually emerges from disadvantageous situations to build playoff teams or young, draft pick filled teams. Outside of possibly the Dipo/Sabonis for PG13 move he comes out ahead on trades while doing the "right thing" for guys like PG13, Westbrook, CP3 and even Mike Muscala.
As it currently stands Presti has constructed a play in team built with one of the top young talents in the league (SGA), stud young wings (Dort, Giddy, Jalen), other talented young guys like Chet, Poku, Dieng, the guy we're supposed to be talking about in this thread, and others. And of course if Presti doesn't own the most first round picks he's damn close.
Naz Reid.

Yeah I don't think you said anything I wasn't alluding to. He is an awesome GM for having a bunch of talent and making a lot of good trades but ultimately not winning anything. Dude has made like 20 good moves that you would think they are the Warriors, but all his great moves has led them to stars leaving and being a what could have been team or what could be team year after year.

This, and also the Harden trade was probably the worst of the decade and probably cost them a few rings. Everyone says it's because of the cheap owner, but no one mentions that Presti extended Perkins a few months earlier with money that could have been given to James.

I think Presti is among the best. Drafting SHOULD be easy but most G.M.s can't and Presti is probably THE best at it. OKC is a small market and horrible destination for players. They aren't going to sign the bigger FAs so they need to be drafted for the most part. Let these kids develop together and we'll see where we are over the next five years. My guess is, OKC will be a playoff team for awhile going forward, taking incremental steps forward until maybe maxing out at the WCF which in OKC, is actually an accomplishment. Now, if they get Wembanyama, they'll make the Finals.

Not sure how I'd rate Presti for a team/location like New York, but for a small market he'd be on a very short list of guys who actually plan in a way that miiiggghhht lead to real success.
