Tidjane Salaun has improved a lot the last 2-3 years. He wasn't even playing pro last year, and he translated his game from youth division to pro division like if it was the same level. Bilal Coulibaly did that too and we see that he managed to translate to the NBA with the same ease.
Additionnaly Tidjane Salaun is still growing, he never played power forward before, there is a lot of things he can improve since he is still learning how to use his long arms and big athletic body. Touch will probably improve once he stops growing.
I really think he is a player with a lot of upside given his physical tools, his great work ethic and his mindset, very focused and confident.

He hasn't really played a ton coming off the injury in SL, but he has shown some high level flashes.

So he’s absolutely huge, confident, insane energy, high quick release, range out to 30 feet. He doesn’t even need to add that much to be ready to play

He plays (shot diet) like budget MPJ, which wouldn't be a bad outcome.

You’re right, he’s probably peaked in game 3 of preseason at 19

Yeah, I was wrong on Salaun. He can play now and he's "built in a lab prototypical robot 3 and D" player. Can't handle the ball yet and isn't explosive, but works his ass off and is huge. Great pick by this first time staff.

Holy Hyperbolic post.

A player making a 3P shot in Pre-Season does not mean that is their range.

He is 10/22 on 3PT in three preseason games in 23 minutes per game. 50 FG%/45% 3PT. That's impressive for a rookie

I'm not sure how you define range if its not a distance from which someone could pull the trigger from comfortably in a half court play and have a reasonable chance to make the shot, which he obviously does, not just from him literally making the one shot you're referring to but his overall shooting stats and his obviously stellar shooting mechanics. perhaps you think I mean he's gonna be like, standing around at 30 feet taking shots every time down the court or something, which would be stupid and obviously not what is implied by "Range up to"

then again I realize I'm talking to the board that thought LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller couldn't shoot

Just posting to reiterate my pre draft opinion that this guy just isn't a serious level nba prospect, and I doubt he will ever return above replacement level impact.

We'll see how the next few years pan out, but he's currently neck and neck with Tskitishvili for the worst fg% since the 60's
