Rasheer Fleming

Post#1 » by XTC » Tue Jan 28, 2025 6:09 pm

Why isn't he getting more buzz? I have thoroughly come away impressed every single time I have seen him play. He gives me OG/Bridges/Eason vibes, and with his improved shooting you would think his stock would be sky rocketing. He's also one of the better athletes in the draft, who is shooting 40% from three on 5 attempts per game, while average 16/9/1.5/1.5/1.5

For those that don't know:
6-9 forward (3/4)
7-5 wingspan
Good athlete
Good shooter
Lockdown defender

I think once draft day comes around, hes going to be a top 10 pick. I know he's a 3 year college player, but he's still relatively young, as he's only going to be 20 come draft day.

He's got quite a lot of buzz imo. The shooting might be fake, is the main thing. Still shooting < 70% from the line over 3 years.

I'm fully bought in...I think he's a lotto pick for sure once workouts commence.

If he really has a 7'5 WS and continues to shoot in the 40%s from 3 I see no reason he isnt a lotto pick.

Draft age of 20.9 is close to the same age as Queen (20.5) who is getting lotto chatter - he would also be barley a year older than VJ, Knueppel, Asa, McNeeley, Ian Jackson, etc.

If he was literally 12-14 months younger he would be getting Top-8 chatter right now IMO. Maybe even in the mix for 5 after Flagg, Ace, Harper and Kasparas.

6'9, 7'5 WS, plus defender, 40% 3PT shooter, good STOCKS, excellent athlete - its guys like this that get under drafted solely because they are not 18 or 19 but otherwise check all the boxes. Happened to PG13 and Leonard.

This is not an anti-Fleming take because I still need to dive into him but on the surface, what's the case for Fleming in the lotto but not say Eric Dailey?

Just getting familiar with Dailey now. Def like what I'm seeing. Looks like the type that should be a first round prospect as a 3&D wing. Just from statistical profile outlook, the main differences I see between Dailey and Fleming are in dunks and defensive impact.

I see Dailey with 7 dunks on the season. Fleming with 34 dunks.

Dailey steal rate of 3% and block rate of 0.8%
Fleming steal rate of 2.9% and block rate of 5.1%

With both, the 3 ball being real is of paramount importance. After that, I like Fleming's indicators to play explosive ball with NBA size but Dailey may have some more natural onball game offensively.

Look like 2 of the better 3&D wing prospects in this class.

This is about what I was going to say. Flemming is just more explosive. I see him as having a 3/D medium outcome with a legit outside chance he is one of those guys who just clicks in the NBA (Due to the combo of functional athleticism, size, length, skill, etc) and becomes a legit star.

I dont see that variance in Dailey. I think he is more of a 3/D guy even in the best outcome.

Aside from everything mentioned. I'm a big believer in both pedigree and projectory. Dailey is playing at an expected level for a med-high 4 star, top 50 RSCI type of recruit.

Fleming started from completely unranked, and has markedly improved significantly every year. This can indicate that he is a late bloomer and/or has a solid work ethic.

I understand a lot of mocks have the Nets taking a guard with the Buck's pick before a run starts on the position but I really like the idea of using it to bring a local boy like Fleming onto the team.

I think he can be the kind of defender than has the grit and hustle Jordi Nelson can work with.
