I know Queen isn't a true Center but it's an interesting comparison because they're basically polar opposites on how they project. The more I watch Queen...I think it's possible to hide him on defense (somewhat) He does have very heavy feet but I wonder if a coach can unlock something with effort and maybe make him a decent net negative instead of the worst defending big in the league.
Who do you prefer? I think I'm taking Queen

Re: Queen vs. Maluach
I have Maluach. I don't think he busts even if he doesn't hit his high end outcome (which is what...Poeltl? Kessler? more?). Queen I (a) don't have a strong feeling about what his high end outcome is (fat derrick coleman?) and (b) I think the low end outcome is not an NBA player.

Re: Queen vs. Maluach
I have them on the same tier, but I have Queen significantly higher than Maluach overall. That said, there is a lot of risk with Queen that isn't there with Khaman.
To me, Queen's upside is higher, but Maluach's potential could be higher than projected, depending on where he lands.

Instincts/feel have me leaning Queen. Both ate high risk to me. Maluach's footwork on both ends is beyond raw and his reaction time seems a beat late alot of the times.

Re: Queen vs. Maluach
15 years ago i would go Queen. But in todays game i think Maluach is more intriguing. His combination of size and mobility is interesting. i have heard there are some issues with Queen's character as well. Although his skill set is more advanced and i like his craftiness. Queen reminds me a bit of David Lee who had a more then stellar nba career. Maluach could be a bigger Mark Williams type big.

Just hit me that Queen is basically Mo Speights.

Since when could Speights pass and reliably attack off the dribble?

Speights basically became a mid-range shooter but at Florida he was pretty good with the ball. What I'm saying is it wouldn't surprise me if Queen's NBA career/profile resembles what Speights was. I am not buying all the "Carmelo" dribble action. This dude worships at the alter of Carmelo being from Baltimore. It's obvious watching his game. I just don't buy it.

Re: Queen vs. Maluach
Something worth mentioning, too, is Queen's age. He is almost 2 years older than Maluach. He is a year older than Sorber, and 7 months younger than Wolf.
