Maybe this thread is premature for a maybe not super high end NBA prospect who only turned 16, but as a Turk I’m just super excited that we finally have a world class Guard prospect, maybe our best one ever, so I wanted to get dips on his thread
Maybe Seattle fans remember this guy: The best Turkish SG ever, a Euroleague legend and maybe best Turkish shooter ever. Spent a year in Seattle but couldn’t find his spot in the NBA

Well Ömer is his son and probably more talented than his dad already was.
He became a known name in Turkey 2 years ago when he started dominating his age groups as a 14 year old and had some 50 point games for the national team. Then transferred to Real Madrid and is now playing for their U16 team
He is born in 2009, so probably a High School sophomore, 6‘3, SG, elite shooter for his age and great facilitator and playmaker as well. He basically has all the skills in the world for a 16 year old SG
BUT we are all worried that his body will not keep up with his skills. He is not the greatest athlete, nor tall or strong enough to be a NBA level SG yet, has a narrow frame and isn’t great finishing though contact. But his body also screams late bloomer and his dad was 6’7 and he already developed really well over the last year. So our hope in Turkey is that he can grow up to around 6‘5 and improve physically still.
If his body develops more and matches his skill level, he is probably a lottery talent. Otherwise one of the many great Euroleague guards who have the skills but not the body for the NBA
He is playing at the Fiba u16 championship atm and leading Turkey to 3 very impressive wins so far.

This young fella has some pretty arc on his shot. But yeah, will he be enough of an athlete is the question.

I remember Ibrahim Kutluay’s lighting it up vs team USA to the point that i wanted him on a video game. Had to go back and see when that was and it had to be like 2004. I literally remember his name from over 20 years ago because his shot making stood out to me so much.

I was at that game. He hit 7 3's, reportedly Iverson asked Philadelphia to sign him after that game.
