Hard Lottery Mock v1.0

Post#1 » by hard49 » Sat Feb 9, 2008 8:30 pm

This is my first mock of the season and will only include the current lottery teams until the playoffs. Draft order is per RealGM Lottery Simulator.

1. Minnesota Timberwolves - Micheal Beasley - Al Jefferson has already established himself as a more than capable 5 and post option. Beasley gives him help on the boards without cluttering up the interior.

2. Seattle Sonics - Derrick Rose - Sonics keep building by getting a solid point guard with star potential. Rose/Durant could be a lethal pick and roll combination.

3. Memphis Grizzlies - O.J. Mayo - Memphis still struggles to generate offense and has very few playmakers. Would love a power forward none worthy of this spot.

4. Miami Heat - Jerryd Bayless - A penetrating point guard with range is just what they need with Marion on board.

5. New York Knicks - Eric Gordon - Hard to say who they will select because their new GM will probably be cleaning house.

6. Los Angeles Clippers - Donte Green - They need a point guard but none worthy here so they take another SF with more potential.

7. Charlotte Bobcats - Roy Hibbert - They need some size and a post option. Also gives them a hedge on some outrageous contract demands from Okafor.

8. Milwaukee Bucks - Nicolas Batum - This team really needs some defense and Batum has the athleticism to develop into a good defender.

9. Indiana Pacers - D.J. Augustin - Can't continue to rely on the often injured Tinsley.

10. Philadelphia 76ers - Darrell Arthur - Chase Budinger - They need some outside shooting next to Iggy.

11. Chicago Bulls - Danilo Gallinari - Bulls get a nice little steal here. Gives them some protection against Deng and Gordon's contract demands.

12. Sacremento Kings - Brook Lopez - Took a big last year but still would like some size to develop. Could go PG if they deal Bibby without getting one in return.

13. Portland TrailBlazers - Kevin Love - No real needs but Love can play and would be good backing up Oden and Aldridge.

14. Houston Rockets - Tyler Smith - This team needs some athleticism on the wings.

Not added yet...DeAndre Jordan, Hasheem Thabeet, Marresse Speights

once again like i said in the other thread, smith is a perfect fit for us at sf because he is athletic but i would rather for us to pick either lopez or hibbert pending if they slip that far

I still don't think Donte Green goes to the Clipps, when our backcourt is out main problem.

To say Memphis takes a G when they are stacked at the position is crazy.

if memphis does get a top five pick, their only hope is to get the umber 1 overall and draft beasley...all these guards lol

Fans seem to fall in love with freshman(especially Mcdonalds AA). I would find a place for Lopez,Gallinari and Hibbert in the top 6 or 7 picks.

I disagree. We have too many point guards, but none of them are capable at the 2 (it is very likely that we move at least one of them... I can't see Crittenton, Lawry, and Conley Jr. being on the roster next year). Right now, we have Mike Miller and Juan Carlos-Navarro at the 2, neither of whom know what the word defense means. Miller is likely to be moved and we will be looking for someone who plays defense and can hit an open shot. There is great depth at SG in this draft (particularly around our next pick from the Lakers via Gasol). If we don't take a 2 with our first pick (it may be best value there), look for Memphis to go with one with the second pick.
