Hey, what do you guys think about Marquette's Ousmane Barro (forward, 6-10, 235lbs)?
See, i've been watching college basketball only since some weeks because i'm from germany and have just figured out a way to watch college games. I watched some of Marquette's last games and i was impressed by their PG James and especially by Ousmane Barro. The guy was a monster in the game at Pittsburgh. He absolutely dominated the post, especially on the defensive end. He grabbed 12 rebounds (4 offensive), scored 14 points (6-6 FG, 2-4 FT) and also had 1 steal and 2 blocks.
I don't know if he will be in the draft next year but from what i've seen him doing in that short time he really should. He impressed me a lot more than for example Hibbert. I don't say he's better than Hibbert, because i haven't seen enough of them to judge about that.
But i wanna know now, what do you think of him and if he was in the draft (i don't know about that) where do you see him?
His stats: 5.8 Ppg, 5.8 Rpg, 1.2 Bpg, 0.5 Spg in 19.2 Mpg
--> per 30 Minutes: 9 Ppg, 9 Rpg, 1.9 Bpg, 0.8 Spg

He lost his starting job for most of this season, and his numbers dropped dramatically. As a Senior, that's a pretty big warning sign.
Anyway, I don't think he's ever getting close to an NBA game unless he has courtside seats. He's a big guy. But he doesn't have amazing size. He's not that great an athlete. His rebounding/defense/scoring isn't more than average.
Just one of dozens of prospects who'll be forgotten about when the time comes to fill out NBA rosters. He has nothing exceptional about him, and no clear NBA-level skills. He'll probably end up a backup C in the NBDL.
Oh, and he's a blackhole on offense. Has no idea how to pass the ball. But he doesn't get it much in Marquette's guard-dominated offense, so it evens out in the end.

And long as you've been watching Marquette, let me add in one more thing.
I've long been convinced the best prospect on their roster right now is Jerel McNeal. Sure he's overshadowed by Dominic James (and Lazar Hayward to a lesser extent), but I see him getting a spot in the NBA.
Sure he'll never be a star (or probably even a starter). But he has the tools to be a big, strong, great defensive PG (maybe like a younger Eric Snow). Keep an eye on him next time you watch them.
