Would Thad Young have been a top 5 pick last year if...

He played the combo forward role (like Beasley this year)? Watching him last year he drifted on the perimeter (most reports said he was trying to improve his outside game, and became perimeter oriented). He rarely posted up smaller guys which was then seen as a weakness. This year he has shown a great low post game (for a rookie SF), and has a great touch inside. imo if he stuck to his game (inside out), he would have been a beast in college.

its possible that he would've been selected by seattle (via boston) at #5 or minnesota at #7

I know it's just an exhibition game but he was sick in that Jordan Classic on the block.

But he would not be as effective as Beasley.


Beasley is mature beyond his years in the post and has a knack for getting boards on both ends of the court
