Im from Australia and I was wondering whether anybody had heard of this guy, he is a high schooler in Sydney and is a Sudanese refugee. He is 208 cm around 6-10 I think, with a massive wingspan of 7-3 and athleticism as well and it says in this article in the paper that scouts told him he would be top 10 high school player if he was in America. He's being recruited by Kansas, Conneticut, Baylor, Kentucky and he is said to have a legit shot at NBA ball.

Sorry if I'm a little late on this, I just want to know a bit more about him. Heres a vid:

The state of Australian basketball is good, way more NBA prospects than ever before.

I'd never heard of him before I read this. Usually when I read "African, massive wingspan, athletic, played basketball for 3 years" I just think bust by default, but he looked really impressive in the youtube video. Nice looking jump shot, decent dribbling for his size, obviously extremely athletic... will be interesting to see how he goes. Is he an Aussie citizen?

I watched him work out last summer in New Orleans at the Adidas Nations camp. Had no idea who he was at the time, but he caught my eye obviously because of his size and length. It looked like he was working extremely hard. He did not look like a great athlete to me there, and that impression didn't change from watching that youtube video. He's a bit on the stiff side, not terribly fluid or explosive. He looked extremely raw last time I saw him, not a real natural talent, but that was 6 months ago. I could see him emerging after 3-4 years like Longar Longar did at Oklahoma.

Im not sure if he is an Aussie citizen but he said one of his goals was to play for Australia at the 2012 Olympics, so if he isnt he probably will be by then. Thanks for the info JonathanG, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders though so hopefully he can work hard and become an NBA player. It would be nice to see yet another Aussie in the league.

There was talk several months back that he was going to play for Maryland, but that fizzled out. The player he was compared to most was Luol Deng.
