Well it always depends on what your team needs, I don't think one guy stands out enough to say draft him over anyone else regardless. I think Mayo will be the best overall player of the bunch, but I don't know if he's a winner though.

 but Earl Watson, Steve Blake, Nate Robinson, Chris Quinn, Sebastion Telfair, Anthony Carter, Beno Udrich, Antonio Daniels, Jameer Nelson, Travis Deiner, and Delonte West are starting in the NBA.

Note that you just listed the starting point guards of about every single team in the lottery...

I dont understand the obsession with Bayless. I might be crazy, or a homer, but if I had to rank the three "tweeners" in the lottery, itd probably go Mayo, Gordon, then Bayless. I realize I am in the minority there, but I just am not that enthralled with Bayless. To be fair, I didnt watch him that much during the season.

Anyone who ever thought Mayo was a PG at any level simply never watched him play.

I would love Mayo at SG on the Raps. I we somehow had the #3 pick, I wouldn't be open to trading.

For the Kings, I would take Lopez, Bayless, Mayo, in that order.

Not sure why the Wolves wouldn't pick Lopez to pair with Jefferson down low, considering they already have Foye and McCants in the backcourt. Add Corey Brewer in the mix and that's a deadly starting 5 for the next decade.

Because drafting for need is what screws teams so early in rebuilds. Mayo is clearly the better player. And many of us have McCants pegged as no more than a 6th man, at best.

Mayo should/will be the 3rd pick.

He simply has the most star potential after Beasley and Rose.

Explain why please, I'd like to listen to your debate over why Mayo is not a starting PG.

Score first, pass second.

I don't want that when I have Al Jefferson on my team.

I'd want that from a SG who can also play great defense, though.

What would your team trade FOR the #3 pick. I'm curious to see if the Nets would offer #10/#21 for #3 overall, or if any teams would offer up a nice young player for that pick...

For GS, if they get really lucky and move up in the lottery, Lopez is the best fit, but I'd still take Mayo.

For trading up purposes, I'd deal Baron Davis for #3+salary filler (say Mobley and Thomas if the Clippers are at #3)

Here are my thoughts on Mayo: He could play the PG or the SG position in the NBA. He reminds me of Brandon Roy in terms of what he can do, his body type, etc. But with Mayo you can get a very good PG or you can get a superstar SG. He can score anyway you want on the floor, has very good vision and is a good defender. Also, his coach at USC has said OJ is the best player he has ever had at listening to coaching and would be a leader on a young team. Finally, he does not kill your defense (like Bayless as a undersized SG would) and I see him as a decent #2 scorer in this league. He would be a great fit on the Sonics so he can play the two and Durant can move to his more natural position the 3. There are no teams that should pass on OJ.

Mayo for sure, he and Randy Foye would make for a versatile backcourt. They can both handle the ball and make plays, and they can both score the basketball. We aren't going to contend next year anyways, so it would be wise to take the BPA and worry about our situation at the center position later.

I'd trade the #3 to New Jersey for the #10/#21 and maybe a protected '10 first as well...draft Anthony Randolph #10 and Serge Ibaka #21.

The Bulls would offer 1 of Hinrich, Gordon, Deng plus the number nine for a shot at Mayo. If its Deng they may want another nice player in return.
