Opinions of Jamont Gordon?

for some reason I like this kid a lot...I will say that he seems a bit cocky and even smug...as far as basketball goes however, I like his game...He's got a good offensive repertoire which includes a nice shot with good range, he's a really good rebounder for being a 6'3" guard, can pass the ball with some precision and his foot speed seems ballistic at times. Does turn the ball over a bit much however...

From seeing him in the tourney he reminds me a lot of Fred Jones when he was in College..I would put his ceiling at what Fred Jones has done in the NBA. He could break in and maybe get a starting role for a couple of years (Freddie had a couple of quite good years with Indiana), but those undersized shooting guards are fighting an uphill battle to stay in the league.

gordon is a better passer/distributer, and jones is the better athlete

i totally disagree wit the Fred Jones analogy
his main problem in the league has been his
lack of handle & ability to make plays for others

Gordon on the other hand excells at getting
others involved and he's an excellent rebounder
for a guy his size. he's extremely stong & a decent
defender as well if he could improve his jumper
I could see him doing well in the league he has
the intangibles. How many 6-3 guards have had
triple doubles over the past few NCAA seasons?
not may but Gordon is on that list dude is talented

Chauncey billups pt 2... Gordon has longer arms, & is a more explosive leaper.. billups came in more of a natural scorer and better shooter.. but this kid will be pretty good imo..

He controls the game well at times, but doesn't quite know when he needs to hit the accelerator and when he needs to "run the o"

i think he has a chance to be this years ramone sessions as in a guy from a smaller school that could make some teams regret passing on him in the second round

I like him, but he's a turnover machine. He really needs to work on his ballhandling to succeed in the NBA, since defenders are that much quicker.

So you disagree with the analogy but then go on to describe him exactly like Fred Jones? Fred Jones played point for Indiana when they made a few deep playoff runs. He has reasonable abilities in that area. What he's not good at is outside shooting. I'm pretty sure he's still getting burn in NY at point and he did last year it Portland. He's a tremendous leaper for his size and better at rebounding than other guys his size. He is a decent defender. He struggles with his shot though and that's where his weakness is. Do you see Gordon being able to jump into the starting PG position on an nba team in a couple of years?
