Great points from the bulls board about quality PFs and PGs in the league

I cannot say it any better than that

How many good *young* PGs can you think of? Paul, D.Williams, Arenas, Parker, Rondo (not there yet but on his way). Maybe Conley (he has to prove it) and arguably Devin Harris (he hasn't proven anything yet, either). Calderon?

There are a couple guys with real size issues: Felton, Jameer Nelson, even TJ Ford. Charlotte is looking for an upgrade, and it seems like Orlando is, too, while Orlando seems to be questioning TJ Ford.

Then a few guys in their primes or even on the decline: Kidd, Nash, Billups, Andre Miller, Baron Davis.

There's Kirk.

Then there are a whole slew of really mediocre players (either due to decline, injury, or whatnot): Bibby, Tinsley, Watson and Ridnour, Marcus Williams (what a step back last year), Marbury (ditto), D.West, M.Williams, J.Farmar/D.Fisher, S.Blake/J.Jack...

PF is in slightly better condition:

Good young: Amare, Bosh, Aldridge, Jefferson, D.West, Boozer, Horford (though he's playing C) and/or Josh Smith, Gasol (arguably also a C, but playing PF now), Jamison (when he's playing PF, not SF.. 20/10).

Randolph is young and puts up good numbers... but we know what the story is there.

Then more veteran guys: 'Sheed, KG, Dirk, Duncan. And you still have some "potential" guys: Tyrus, Ji, Br. Wright, maybe Thadeous Young if you call him a PF.

Then a lesser tier of guys - either on the decline, injured, or mediocre: Brand (inj), J.O'neal (inj), Kenyon Martin, Scola, Landry (undersized), Gooden, R. Evans, Collison/Wilcox, D.Lee, Harrington,

In any event, the Bulls have a real opportunity to get a top player at a position that doesn't have that much top talent at it... although, incredibly, the two least talented position in the NBA are C (no surprise) and SG (wow is the talent at SG slim outside of the top guys).

There were FIVE 15/10 guys in the NBA this past season -- Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, Al Jefferson, Carlos Boozer and Antawn Jamison. THAT'S IT. Even if you drop down to 10/10, there were still only NINE guys (adding in Tyson Chandler, Emeka Okafor, Lamar Odom and Samuel Dalembert)

Either Rose or Beasley -- in theory -- would upgrade the Bulls at their position. The question is whether Paxson is more comfortable sticking with the PG he knows can -- when on his game -- be pretty productive -- or whether he believes that -- given steady playing time in the 25-30 MPG range and a young PG who has this great projeced future -- Tyrus Thomas could move himself into the conversation when talking about the best young PFs.

Rose/Thomas - med to high risk/potentially very high reward
Hinrich/Beasley - low to med risk/potentially high (but not as high) reward

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

The only thing that keeps me from thinking we take Beasley is the fact that scoring big men can be had via trade. It seems this happens more often than it does with stud PGs.

The only thing that keeps me from thinking Rose is the better player because I'm not sure if he's even better than Baron Davis (although Davis had plenty of injuries in his career). I do think he'll be able to score in the NBA, but I question his ability to manage a game with tempo like Paul and Williams.

I think Beasley is the better player right now. It's not hard for me to see Paxson drafting Beasley under this belief.

I'd like to see us draft Rose and either trade for #2 overall somehow (I know, pipedream) or a big like Brand. We have the assets to make a serious trade happen.

With the #1 pick, the only choice for the Bulls is Rose, ICLO. Forget that he's from Chicago... he has a better shot at being a true impact player on both sides of the floor.

The best PG left in the playoffs is Chauncey Billups on the Pistons. Billups is important but that is a team without a star.

If Boston finishes off Detroit, the two teams that meet in the Finals will be teams that turned themselves around by acquiring POWER FORWARDS.

20/10 is a dime a dozen? Are you kidding me?

There were only 6 guys in the league who put that up this year. There are only a handful of guys capable of averaging that for their career. Those who can are usually HOFers.

When you add another rebound on to that total you're in even more elite company.

There were only 4 guys this year to average 19/11. 3 of those guys were guys by the name of Yao Ming, Dwight HOward, and Tim Duncan.
