2020 Draft > 2019 Draft

Post#1 » by EMG518 » Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:41 pm

I am just going to go on the record now, the 2020 draft is going to be a lot better than the 2019 draft. There is no Zion level hyped prospect but the rest of the draft will not even be comparable with many really good impact players coming from this draft. This draft hasn't gotten it's proper due. 2020 > 2019.

you never know because a lot of these guys depend on team fit but in general nah, disagree, i think 2019 will be better in both all-star level talent and depth at this point.

I think 2020 has some very sneaky Giannis potential prospects, but I still think 2019 > 2020 at the time of the draft. The way the players develop and end their careers though, that's a discussion for another day.

...so guys that will be picked later in the draft whom will turn into superstar, MVP level players?

Please share, I'm all ears. (eyes)

The 19 class had some pretty disappointing rookie seasons but overall i think there are far less 2020 prospects that are still in the league past rookie deals..
When so called draft gurus are pegging pwill as the next kawhi because "they" slept on teams interest in a Anunoby clone if lucky or when a prospect like Cole Anthony is consistently being mocked after the likes of prospects with a lesser resume it just tells me plenty of smoke is filling the room and with so little normal data to go on a lot of late risers having really nice predraft processes will get picked too soon compared to their actual impact long-term.

nobody has defended this draft class more than me and I think it's really close to 2019 but I'm not sure it's better. There's a lot of talent that will emerge from the 2019 class once they develop. Also, several players were taken in the lottery that shouldn't have been. If you subbed them with the players that should have, it would put the class in a better light. Culver, Hunter, Hayes, and Johnson are not lottery talents so comparing them to 2020 prospects that ARE lottery talents skews the results. I do think the 2020 class is deeper.

Most likely yes. The main advantage of 2019 was supposed to be top-end talent, and Zion's health/conditioning makes it seem less likely he becomes the LeBron or Luka type of prospect he was billed as.

This is just hindsight. It's way to early to give up on the Culver's, Garland's and RJ's of the 2019 class.
There's no way at least that the 2019 class has less players with second contracts than 2020.

2020 is filled with players that will have been forgotten by their 3rd year.

It's just 2019 had disappointing years for Zion and Barrett.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.
