Cade is a 6'7" point guard, and above average at every aspect of basketball except for athleticism. Wiggins was never on his level talent-wise.

Wiggins hype was pre-college - He was the poster boy of the Kobe/Michael athletic tool-kit and was just too young and bouncy to have people fall for the dream that he has that type of work-ethic and BBIQ to match.

During college all that happened was that the reality of his not great performances was battling the hype he had coming in - And because of his athletic and physical profile the latter won (That and the fact that Embiid got injured before locking the #1 spot)

Cade actually passes the eye test.

They are almost exact opposites

Wiggins was this absolute freak of an athlete. Blur in transition, freakish leaping ability and speed. Felt there was nothing his body wasn't capable of doing. However whenever you watched him play you'd think "I wish he was better at basketball". He didnt have a handle, wasnt a capable playmaker, had little agency over the game and played very passive. He made a killing in transition, got to the line a decent amount, and shot the 3 at a decent clip. But overall he left you wishing there was more. Think similar to Cam Reddish a few years ago except instead of actively being garbage Wiggins just left you disappointed and wanting more, hoping it would eventually develop.

Cade is the exact opposite. Its actually startling how limited he appears athletically. For a top-5 projected guard he seems a little sluggish. But god-damn if he isn't one of the most polished and skilled perimeter players I've seen. Legit triple threat and boarderline basketball savant. Scores in so many different ways, efficiently and effectively. Shows strong passing and slashing talent. Turnovers are a bit worrisome but besides that there's not much to pick at.

Basically if you combined Wiggins athleticism with Cades ability to play Basketball you have a near-LeBron level talent.

If you combined Wiggins ability to play basketball with Cades athletic ability you'd have someone who probably hangs on for a mediocre bench career and doesn't go R1.

This isn't even a real comparison. Two totally different players. Cunningham skill level and leadership qualities alone is enough for you to know Wiggins was just a hype job who post empty stats and Cunningham is an alpha who was born to play ball. He has good IQ and is tougher than Wiggins will ever be. Please don't compare the two.
