Which makes it easier to judge a player? Which will better develop a player? etc., etc.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

TBD but I'll stick with the opinion of it being case by case for these kids. For some it makes more sense than others in terms of fit, playing style, and opportunity.

It would be nice as a stick it to the system situation to have these kids go get paid for their services but that route isn't for everyone. Cade and Suggs go G-League Nix gets no burn. Does Suggs even breakout the way he did considering how perfect a fit the Zags choice was for him. Does Jalen Green's style of play flourish with college spacing? Kids like Barnes and Moody don't get the touches they get on that Ignite team stock don't shoot to top 5-10 talk. Jalen Johnson might have faired better away from Duke. So many questions in which things could go either way.

It's too new and too up in the air at the moment with the data we have but end of the day it's going to be case by case. I think these kids will look at Ignite like they do any other school and ask some of the same questions. Time? Fit? Lifestyle? Exposure? Money is cool and whatnot but it's not what they're gonna make either way next level and TBH not every kid signing a G-League deal is Jalen Green marketable. They'll have to go with what makes sense for them.

let's see

playing in the semi-pros, against former pros/aspiring pros, getting coached up by NBA coaches, NBA environment where you're focusing 100% of your time and effort on developing your game

vs spending half your time taking basic algebra and swahili classes and playing against Coppin State while rotting in crappy and archaic offenses that can barely manufacture 60 points in 40 minutes.

tough choice
