i went Suggs, but tbh i wouldn't be completely shocked if Ujiri decides to take Kuminga here.

I think in this scenario Suggs/Kuminga/Barnes will be in consideration, but it would probably be Suggs.

The easiest pick in the draft: Jalen Suggs.

The whole idea that Masai would be interested in Kuminga is unfounded.

1) yes, there's the African connection but thats just not logical by itself

2) The Raps have never went for a project with a high pick during Ujiri's tenure. They go for good analytics guys.

Siakam, Delon, Poeltl, Flynn, OG and Harris were all analytics guys.

Only real project was Bruno and he was taken at 20.

No brainer here. Suggs is clearly the best player left and the Raptor's need a PG. VanVleet is better suited for the 2. Lowry is either gone in free agency or even if they bring him back he's 35 yrs old so he can groom/mentor Suggs to take over once he retires.

center is a bigger need for Toronto, but a) PG's are more valuable in today's NBA than centers and b) raptors can just pick up a center via trade/free agency

The pick is definitely Suggs. The only question is whether another team would be willing to sell the farm to move up and grab him, and whether Masai would go for it.

Probably no other team that needs Suggs more but I vote Barnes as a sleeper here

With Lowry's time pretty much all but done there, I think Suggs makes a ton of sense. But with that said I wont be shocked if he goes Kuminga. I know they already have OG and Siakam there, but those two are exactly why I wouldnt be shocked if they go Kuminga. Kuminga has a much higher ceiling than either one of those two, but its pretty clear Masai isn't afraid to go after the raw big wings. And with the progression of those two, I wouldnt be shocked if Toronto is thinking they have a ton of faith in their coaching ability to progress their players and if they feel like they can max out Kuminga's ceiling, hard to pass that up.

But ya with all that said I think they go Suggs.

The other thing about Suggs is that the guy is from Minnesota, so he’s not going to have a problem with the harsh Toronto winters. Hell, I should lay some money right now on him going 4th. It’s almost a bigger lock than Cade at 1.

I'm going Sengun here, he's my #2/3 player in the draft behind Mobley and close to Cade and Masai and co. have never been shy about disagreeing with consensus.

I think all the guards will be gone by #4 and Mobley goes to the raps.
