Springer or Usman here clear BPAs and best fits unless Washington would want someone that can help them get to the POs next season

I feel like Ziaire is actually a really nice fit for them. Lanky wing who can shoot the lights out, has some outlier potential to be a star. I feel like Deni is probably best as a power forward, and Rui is probably best as a small-ball center, but I have not watched a ton of Wizards games, so I may be wrong on all of that. Regardless, I think if you are taking the best non-guard prospect (as in, with the highest upside) this is where I'd go.

This is an odd pick.

I could see the Wizards going in a number of different ways.

BPA or fit/need?

Well, there's probably 6-8 guys who all have a case for being BPA.

Need? Their 2 best players are westbook and beal, so you figure not drafting a guard, right? Wrong. Westbrook is getting old AF and might get traded. Beal? There was a story posted 3 weeks ago about how the wizards were going to try and sign him to an extension but it still hasn't happened yet. Rumors are he might either get traded to Boston or wait till next offseason when he's a free agent - either way team up with his BFF, Tatum.

So who are the wizards actually building around? Deni is a 3 and Achimura is a 3, but are either of them capable of being starters on a good NBA team? Not sure.

Then they have Bertans, who's a role player, stretch 4 off the bench at best.

Maybe the wizards are optimistic about westbrook and beal staying another 3 yrs and achimur and deni being good, so maybe they take a center? They're probably hoping Sengun is still available, but if not, do they take Kai who seems more like a 4?

IDK, I voted Kispert cause they could use a wing who can shoot but this is a weird pick. Just a matter of them doing some workouts and interviews and seeing who they feel good about among the 6-8 guys who have a case for BPA..

I'd take Springer here, the Wizards have gone almost a decade without having a decent third guard. You can make a compelling argument that he's the best player available and he has the skillset to play with either Beal or Westbrook.

I figured it was a tossup between Garuba and Kispert. I think it's a little more likely they choose Kispert, but I picked Garuba because it's so hard to find high quality versatile defenders.

They can go basically any direction. They need help everywhere but nothing totally glaring. I voted Zhaire as an upside swing for the fences
