Alex Antetokounmpo

Pacers giving him a workout: https://www.si.com/nba/pacers/news/indiana-pacers-will-workout-giannis-antetokounmpos-brother-alex-on-tuesday

Giannis says that Alex is gonna be better than him:

But it's hard to find any recent footage of Alex, and according to realGM Alex only played in 1 pro game this year, scoring 0 points in 2 minutes. Is that correct? I'm thinking it's not accurate, since in the video (linked above) they say that Alex dropped 28 points in his first pro game in Spain..

Yes, it's right. He was in Spain's amateur level 4th division the whole season. His team put him in a Spanish ACB (first division) game, at the end of the game, for 2 minutes, just once, so that he could have a "pro" game credit. That's it. The entire season he was in the amateur club, in Spain's 4th tier league.

That's wrong about him scoring 28 points in his "first pro game". He was playing in an amateur league. He played in the Spanish 4th Division, which is an amateur league. That was not his first pro game, as that's an amateur competition. In his actual "first pro game", and so far only pro game, he scored 0 points.

In the Spanish 4th Division, his numbers were,

21 games
23.0 MPG

45.9 FG%
24.6 3 PT FG%
59.6 FT%

12.4 points per game
5.6 rebounds per game
0.9 assists per game

0.9 steals per game
0.5 blocks per game
3.0 turnovers per game

It's good to know that in the current NBA, those numbers in the Spanish 4th Division, can you get a workout with an NBA team........

It's his last name...

If he had taken his nigerian name of Adetokunbo, the Pacers would have probably passed on the workout since it's not the same as the Milwaukee guy.

He's going to probably end up on the Bucks as a clap partner to his older brother. ****, overturn Kostas from his planned trip to Olympiakos as well and get a full cheerleading squad.

Nepotism at its finest.

Thanasis and even Kostas are actually legit pro level players though. Alex has a ways to go to even be considered a pro. So if an NBA team signed him, it would be extreme example.

It's true Thanasis got his gigs with Panathinaikos and Bucks off the name, and the same with Kostas with the Mavs and Lakers...

But for Kostas, after he played badly with Greece at the OQT, Olympiacos didn't sign him, and there have not been any EuroLeague teams linked to Alex so far. So apparently the name isn't going to gain anything in Europe anymore.

If he is on the board at 60, Pacers should stash him. We can give the 54 a two way but we don't have a second one available for the 60 unless we drop Stanley.

Interesting that the Kings could just add him to their summer league roster without having to draft him first.

Maybe the Celtics can do the same thing with Garuba, Giddey and Sengun :)
