Upperclassmen that could vault themselves into top10 in next yrs draft
every year we get these guys, Mitchell/Wagner this last class, Toppin/Smith in 20, Ja/Hunter in 19...etc.
which returning players that are not seen as top10 guys today do you think could end up being in the top10 of next year's class?
Ivey/Mathurin seem like the best bets right now, who else?

Ivey/Mathurin will still be sophomores, so they aren't upperclassmen. If we mean non-freshman, though, they are absolutely good bets. I have Allen Flanigan as the best upperclassman as of now, obviously a lot could change during the year.

I can see Maturin going top 10 pretty easily with his archetype and shooting.

I thought Keegan Murray was the best prospect on Iowa last year. If he dials up his three he could go top 10.

If we're counting incoming sophomores, Zach Edey. Dude has the potential to be a monster. Him and Ivey are going to be fun to watch. Although they are kind of an odd pairing since Edey is more a half court player and Ivey is a more of a go go go, fast pace, up tempo type of player.
IDK about top 10, but I can see him rising into the top 20 at least..

He was my answer to that question last year, but I'm having a really hard time seeing how he could vault himself into the top 10 when he's most likely coming off the bench and even if he were to shoot well it would be met with (warranted) questions of whether it was a one-year fluke given he's 4-29 from three and 62.5% from the line his first two seasons

Watson can't shoot, has very little ball skills and is a marginal athlete, don't see any way he's in the top10 talk next year tbh

Problem with Keegan Murray is that he's really old for his class. I like him otherwise. Hard to see him jumping into the Lottery though.

Re: Upperclassmen that could vault themselves into top10 in next yrs draft
Here's a question. Who's higher on your big board. Kinsey or Harper Jr? I'm kind of torn on these 2. Very different players. Harper Jr is more polished and built like a truck. Kinsey is pretty polished but in some aspects (loose handle, challenges on D) is a little raw but is way more athletic.
Kinsey shot 41% from 3 last yr compared to Harper Jr at 31% but perhaps some of that is difference in competition. Harper Jr appears to be much better on D.
Or is it too early to even have a big board, except for maybe the first 5 or 10 picks?

Hmm I didn't really think about it that way; he redshirted so yeah you should be thinking of him as a junior. I think the same kind of thing happened with Mikal Bridges where people got caught up on the "he redshirted so he's not as young as you think" aspect and overlooked him being by far the best perimeter defender in his draft and the kind of player who fits with every team. Now I don't think he'll be quite the shooter Bridges is, but Bridges still went 10th in a draft that was considered to be way more stacked at the top and has proven himself to be more valuable in his role than a lot of players who were perceived to have more upside.

In light of Tuesday's NCAA basketball 2021-22 tip off, I have scoured late season/summer film to identify potential breakout prospects coming into this year. In this brief synopsis, I discuss Purdue's Jaden Ivey, Colorado's Jabari Walker, Villanova's Brandon Slater, Alabama's Keon Ellis, and Michigan's DeVante' Jones.

Completely forgot about him when making this article, but Florida St's Caleb Mills will probably go lotto imo.
