Rod Hood update, after his 22 pts 7 reb 3 ast game vs. Vermont today:

On the season (6 games):

40-60 FGs, 11-16 3pt FGs, 40-48 FTs

21.8 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.5 APG

Damn.

I don't know if anyone is sleeping on Gary Harris or Cory Jefferson, but I like both of those guys to be solid players in the NBA. I also love McDermott as a role player who will stick in the league for many years due to his shooting.

I really like Jefferson. He's a bit old and a little lighter than ideal, but in the right situation, I think he can be very successful in today's NBA that emphasizes quickness. How successful might depend on if he can keep expanding his shooting range - which he showed off at the end of last season.

Alex Kirk impressed me during the Charleston Classic tournament.

For me its Nik Stauskas.
One of the best shooters in the draft. Has shown improved atleticism and playmaking skills this season. Has a underrated in between game. Not going to be a star by anymeans but could be a really effective 6th man or valueble role player on a great team. He should be a really solid pick in the #15-25 range.

I'd Cady Lalanne in the back of my mind since the season started, so I'll acknowledge him now. But I'm still on the proverbial fence on whether he'll get selected in the NBA draft.

Agreed on Smith...the hell has gotten into him since he transferred?I vaguely remember him on that UConn championship squad,he played nothing like this

Averaging almost 16 reb a game in 31 mins

Is Keith Appling of MSU much of a NBA prospect?

He's a senior, but is putting up a 25.4 PER, 16.8 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 5.7 APG, 1.7 TOs at PG.

Absolutely, if he can hit the three shot consistently he will have a nice nba career. His ability to get to and finish at the rim is up there with anyone in college bball right now. I like his game a lot.

Jordan adams. Insanity is the reason why he isn't top 16 draft. He transformed his body which was the only complaint.

he could probably declare and be taken high if he wanted to but zach lavine looks amazing.
electric athlete and a quick, accurate release on his jumper with range. he flashed some shot creating ability as well off the bounce but most his shots are of the catch and shoot variety. thin as a pencil, but so were ross and lamb.
he was once billed as a combo, but i don't think that's the case anymore. he's a dynamite sg prospect.
could just be a hot start shooting aided by playing with the best passer in collge, but his tools (outside of his frame) are fantastic.

He's clearly a two, I need to see more, because I fear he can get into Austin Rivers category and try to play heroball all the time if he gets labeled as the main guy in UCLA next year, but yeah, so far he looks amazing.
And he's shooting lights out, really confident, also good shooters in UCLA, midrange, 3s, help him get to the basket, but still...

Norman Powell looks good too, with another year to polish his offense and play under control, plus his physique and toughness on D, can be a 1st round prospect.

And by the way, I don't know if he gets back this year, hope so, but Hairston is a major sleeper at this point, for me he's a late lotto guy, a nobody is even considering him.

NBA athlete, strong and crazy good shooter, great length for a 2 guard and he knows how to get advantage of his tools, with more playmaking ability he will remind me of Harden.

what gives you that impression? he's done almost all his work off the ball as a shooter (something that rivers cannot do...and i think one of the reasons why he dribbled so damn much)
there's no place for heroball in alford's system anyways.
