This sounds like someone who only watched him his sophomore year.

I don't think he's a good passer at all (gets lanes from bad defense) and this "contact" that is being seeked isn't completely true. He is going to the basket a lot more, but isn't really getting strong contact because of the players hes been against. Against NBA level defenders, he won't get the passing lanes he's getting and won't be able to handle the stronger contact (because he's soft).

In the NBA, he'll have even more space...

If you want to look at which players have contributed the most marginal offensive value for their teams, you really want an absolute value, not a rate statistic. If Player A can play 35 minutes per game at a given efficiency/usage level, while Player B plays only 25 minutes per game at the same levels, Player A is contributing more to his team’s efforts to win a given game, since Player B’s team has to find another player (presumably a less efficient one) to play the extra 10 minutes.

Here’s the equation for PORPAG:

(OffRtg – 88) * %Poss * Min% *65

More space = quicker, longer, smarter, experienced defenders

I can't decide if Caris looks quicker this year because he actually is orrrrrrr if he's just taking angles to the basket with better timing. Dude looks like a blur in the half once he gets a step.

after what he did to Moses Moody's name, I got DJ K. Perk in a Verzuz battle against ANYBODY

Great first step, slightly above average running speed (for NBA, not college). Actually I think his first step reminds me of Paul George's first step.

I think his first step got much better. He changes direction really well too. Caris likely practiced that a lot after his injury through rehab. He probably doesn't want to get injured again.

See? Soft. Avoids contact. Doesn't fight around screens. Isn't aggressive enough. He has had a 5'9 guy in Nic Moore guarding him. LeVert doesn't want it bad enough. What I liked about players like Jerian Grant was that he wanted to be the man and he was able to score enough to put his team in a game. For someone who's a senior it's bad to not be assertive because he'll have no confidence in the NBA. Happened with Stauskas and anyone else that doesn't push themselves.

The game isn't over yet so we'll see... Okay it's almost over. LeVert's lack of IQ showed a lot too. Makes bad passes -- especially in transition. He ruined a couple fast breaks.

Well we were talking about it earlier in the day and I wanted to pay extra attention to the game because of our conversation. I saw everything I was talking about, granted his shot wasn't falling at all. I'm not talking about his shooting or points though. I'm talking about how he gets those.

Much better ballhandler, more creativity and a better passer than CJ Miles.

Please stop blatantly naming players to compare him to. All-around comparisons are, first of all, never correct. If you're going to make comparisons, compare specific player's skills, abilities or style of play. By making these thoughtless comparisons you're breeding ignorance.

He's CJ Miles. He's going to be a one trick pony in the L. Not dynamic or confident enough for much more.

Not a fan. He takes a lot of contested jumpers and his first step isn't elite.

I loved him as a prospect last year but I am waiving on him. The BBIQ isn't where it needs to be and he doesn't force his will. As a college SR, I like to see dominance from them as they are far more mature than a Fr or So. I haven't seen that from Caris. I think he can be a good role player but I don't see an any system fit like I assumed last year.

Really the only true criticism I've seen and I think that is a product of Beilein's "don't foul or turn it over" scheme.
