As someone who was high on him since the McDonalds All-American game and who refused to put him lower than top 3 in the draft, I’m really pulling for Sexton. People underrate energy so much. Great players play with energy on the floor plus Sexton has always been super competitive. Really couldn’t see him failing. I always say the best players are the ones that are the most fun to watch.

time will tell the story and I cannot predict the outcome at this point. But he is consistently improving at a rapid rate and just seems destined to shine as bright as a the morning sun when you forgot to wear shades

I don't think he will take less than a max if he can get it. Again, the question is really whether that's good for the team, which speaks to his true value.

Is he worth a max?

and I definitely think he would take a discount if he thought it would equate to more wins being able to retain Allen or something

Tell me the last guy who "took a discount" on a 0.500 or under team when he was in line for a max? It ain't happening.

they dont need to max him that soon chief lol the Cavs are possibly going to make the playoffs this season and are going to surprise a lot of people next season assuming they continue to get better fast so yeah they will be far better than a 500 team by the time it comes to offer him the max. If not I'm not sure they would want to max anyone

If your organization refuses to pay Sexton the max or near max, fold up shop.

I mean if evaluators are going to hold onto their pre-draft feeling despite all the evidence and production staring them in the face that is on them. Dude is in his 3rd year averaging 27ppg on 62% TS. I guess the Cavs can keep recycling players through until they get another LeBron level guy but Sexton can be part of a winning NBA team for sure.

it would be just a waste of bytes whether sexton will be maxed or not at this point. he will certainly be maxed.
