Where do you think he lands as it stands right now?

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
Finally finished my 7 minute film breakdown for Deni. Really enjoyed breaking down his film.

Any reasoning for this?
Or just baseless gut feeling?

Is there any part of his game that stands out of him having greater potential than Euroleague player? I dont see any.

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
Deni has elite handles and fluidity to go along nice athleticism at 6'8, find me those EuroLeague wings with that type of toolset, please
Also knows how to play, pass, has good feel, shooting outside of the weird FT stuff is good for his age/size/role, dunno...

Why should we come back to it - other than to criticize the post for not giving any reason for the opinion?

I agree with most of this. I wouldnt classify his handles as elite by any stretch though. His right hand is really strong, but his left hand needs lotssss of work. I still have him top 3-5.

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
elite handles for being that tall, not in a vacuum, also it's not only about handles per se but functionality, his athleticism is really good towards handling it at his height, gets low, zips, explodes naturally, fluid like a guard on the ground

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
I don't disagree that he's a very good ball handler for his height and body. But elite for his height at the NBA level is like Luka/Paul George. There's the skeleton of an elite handle but he needs to be able to go both ways with it and hes a couple years away from that.

Maybe the mental game is the problem, and not having a permanent FT routine.
I want to believe that it will scale upwards to 70% with age and his confidence rising - but his FT situation makes absolutely zero sense to me.
All your post are about Deni. Are you trying to pump his value with a bit account or you don't like the Nba like at all?

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
i was much higher on Musa than most people, but I don't see a huge difference in them as prospects tbh, Deni probably has a better body type and is stronger, but Musa himself was pretty quick and fluid who can handle and shoot for a 6-8 guy, they kinda have the same mentality on the court as well

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
From watching a couple games, I think he is an intriguing prospect, but his left hand in completely nonexistent, which is incredibly problematic.

I think Musa was way better, I also liked Forkmaz more, with Korkmaz you could tell he is super smooth shooter and offensive weapon, he just was too physically weak to contribute on elite Turkish team at the time, few years passed and hes finally showing his talent which was always there, I liked Korkmaz a lot. I just dont see anything very special with Deni Avdija, hes more filled out Emir Preldzic, people act like 6'9 with playmaker skills automatically makes you great NBA prospect, give me a break. Maybe I am totally wrong, but this guy can easily be back in Europe after his rookie deal.
Leaps and bounds better than Musa? Thats a good laugh, Musa was one of the most dominant FIBA juniors players of the entire decade, and at times already looked like clear best player on Bosnian national mens team. If anything, Musa's struggles in the NBA, shows that being tall playmaker doesnt make you NBA player by default, What does Avdija do better than Musa? Nothing.

Re: Deni Avdija - 2020 draft
I'd say his defense is better than Musa's. Seems more unselfish/better passer than Musa as well, Musa seemed to have the blinders on sometimes imo. IIRC Musa wasn't very efficient for Cedevita until his last season either.
I thought Musa would be doing better in the NBA compared to where he is right now, though it's still very early days for him. I do still think he's still on track to be a handy NBA player. I think I had Musa late lottery in his draft, or maybe just outside it? I liked him considerably.
But to me, from what I've seen, and I've only seen certain videos to this point - Ajdiva seems to fit into a role better, will play better D, has a better physical profile to finish with, has some interior/post-up ability and can handle small-ball 4 minutes. That's why I like him more.

First and foremost his passing and playmaking ability which to me is the highlight of his game.
His athletic ability for his size being able to run the floor, or lead the break at 6'9 - you hardly see that in the league let alone the Euroleague.
His ball handling and decision making for his size.
His basketball IQ and feel (Can see that in how easily he improved as a defensive playerin his first real year at the pro level with a real defensive coach to guide him)
Where are those Euroleague players? Just turning 19?
I think the relatively high level he does all-around things and the foundation he has combined with his work ethic will make him a good player in the leauge. I don't think he'll be a star - but to peg him as a potential Euroleague player down the line is silly to me(no offense)

I follow the NBA regularly for years, I just don't have as much time being all over the place on the forum or in general nowadays, so I stick to what interests me : Kings and the draft, especially Deni since I'm from Israel.
Or maybe I am Deni and this will all turn into a Bryan Colangelo story a few years from now
