Lol Kentucky fans were chanting GPA at Simmons when he was at the line and he didn't get the taunt. "Student-athlete" was always a sham moniker, apparently BBIQ doesn't translate to the classroom. If you're unable to even pull a 2.0 with grade inflation at a public uni I don't know what to say thats an achievement in of itself.

Nurseryc, can you enlighten us about Simmons and his passing skills? He has 25 assists and 29 TOs in the last 5 games on college level. I'am afraid to imagine how will those stats look in the NBA. Wasn't he supposed to be some Magic/LeBron level passer? What's happening?

Public universities have less grade inflation than private schools. At least that is what I've gotten from my gf works in that industry. Still not getting s 2.0 is odd based upon what I've heard about the kid prior to this season

Simple. His Turnovers have more to do with his teammates not being on his level and having his skills, anticipation, ability to move, resulting in them missing brilliant passes that nba level players would easily catch. His passing ability is so incredibly high and he is that gifted that it's laughable to even insinuate that this has Anything much to do with him being sloppy and throwing the ball away. On an any stage with higher iq talented nba players this wouldn't even be a discussion as these passes would be caught and his assists per game would be much higher and his turnovers would be minimal. NEXT.

So he's so advanced nobody can understand him? His teammates are so bad they can't even catch the ball?

He's about to sign a 100 million dollar shoe deal. He is only in college for 1 year and wasn't ever here for his studies. Do you think he really gives a @&$! about going to class, studying or what his grades are. He's probably never opened a text book or taken notice of any subjects in class since his arrival at LSU given he's a one and done and will be one of the richest players in the nba before playing a second of court time because of his incredible basketball ability, not an LSU degree. It's laughable to even insinuate this as him being dumb for not getting good grades. His focus isn't on his studies and why should it be. It likely never will be again.

How will Ben learn how to play defense?
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

He still connects on 5 assists per game. His assists will be much higher in the nba with more talented players who are more capable and can catch Magic Johnson level passes. That's nothing on his current team mates. They just aren't on that level but nba players will be. Plain and simple.

How will Brandon Ingram learn how to shoot above 35% anywhere inside the three point line?

As great as Simmons is, One man can't do it all.

Take Ingram off duke and replace with Simmons, you'd be looking at Duke being the equivalent of the Golden State Warriors of the nba and duke being runaway winners of ncaa tournament.

Every single starter on his team had a better shooting% than Simmons. Two of them even outscored him. The guy can't carry a team even though he will be 20 pretty soon and everybody who is going up against him is smaller, slower and weaker. In the NBA he will never have anything close to the physical advantage he has now and he still can't make the difference and some people are actually comparing him to LeBron?

Ben isn't as smart as he looks, trying to diss the best pure pg in college in ulis, getting your ish crushed i guess makes you salty but he needs to learn to be humble or he should of decided to go to a better program. He has at least one McDonald's all American and a pro in quarterman fact is he chose a terrible coach. Transcendent players could overcome what is going on, he's a complimentary player on the nba level, a number two to someone.

I think people are a little blinded by how good LeBron is today when dismissing comparing Simmons to LeBron. I think people forget how raw rookie LeBron was. If LeBron had went to college, their scouting report would have a lot of similarities.

-Athletic and size.
- Elite in transition.
-Court vision and handles.
-Good scorer

- Shaky jumper.
-Disappears for stretches on offense
-Defensive potential.
-Grades

To take it even further, LeBron is left handed but plays basketball with his right hand. I am not saying Simmons will be the next LeBron by any means but he could be. LeBron greatly elevated his game since his rookie year. Ben Simmons will need to do the same to be the next LeBron.

If LeBron had went to college he would of won a national title on lsu. He was superior in everything. Ben Simmons is more Lamar Odom and that's ok but don't make him more than that or you set him up for failure

No chance in hell Lebron would have won a national title on this LSU team. In Lebrons rookie season he wasnt able to even lead the Cavs to the playoffs and had no outside shot. Since then he has never been able to lead the cavs to a title even with star acquisitions. We have only seen Lebron get a title having to leave the cavs and playing with one of the best players in the nba in wade and playing alongside all star calibre Bosh. Your really clutching at straws here.

Think we are underestimating the gap in skill, athleticism and leadership between the two. I don't know if they win the title but they are a top 3 seed in the tournament. This team would be fine with a guy like rookie Lebron on it.
