you said i had a few correct, and most of them are playing the same in the nba as they were in europe.
meaning if doncic stays the same: is he worth a top 5 pick for someone who willl average 10 ppg in the nba?
now you name me european prospects who doubled their scoring (8 to 16 or more) once coming into the nba? and i dont mean the ones who were playing 7-15 minutes per game in europe. the ones who played meaning ful minutes in europe. (20+)?
i really would like to know wich players did that, as i really cant think of any right now. and if you name a few, i can maybe see this in another light
i know that NCAA athletes dont pan out in the nba game because they dont learn how to play, remain athletes. so thats their weak point. we all know doncic is na great smart alround talent, but will his good given athletic ability or the % of it he ads with training, be enough to do something great and good in the nba or wont it? will see. but the bigger gains are on the athletes who learn the game, then on smart players who "become" athletes
You have to look at per36 stats when looking at players playing in Europe, because games are 8 minutes shorter and coaches rarely give anyone more than 25mins, even star veterans. Doncic is putting up 15-8-8 per36 in the Euroleague and 14-8-7 including ACB. Rebounds are completely transferable to the NBA (as proven with numerous examples) while the assists often go up. So if Doncic's stats stay the same, we're basically looking at a 15-8-8 statline.
And you're totally ignoring the fact that he's substantially younger than most of your examples were. He played the majority of this year as a 17-year-old, trying to fit in on a top team. He's doing the little things, not really trying hard to score, just when opportunity arises.
Players that (almost) doubled their scoring? Almost everyone who almost doubled his minutes, obviously! Porzingis, Dragic, even Rubio ... Do you see the pattern? Not many players double their scoring because only the absolute best will see their minutes substantially increasing. Doncic provides so many little things that he's most likely easily going to get his minutes increased substantially, but it obviously depends on the team.pacersGM wrote:narcolepsy wrote:
Ofcourse if he stays the same as he is right now (at 18) he's not worthy of a first pick. No one is. You must be trolling, what are you even trying to accomplish right now?
ALMOST EVERY PLAYER ON THE LIST I GAVE STAYED "THE SAME" GOING FROM EUROPE TO THE NBA. not my word but i agree.
so i dont understand what you mean?
DRAFT POSITION = BASED ON POTENTIAL 80%
DONCIC GETS DRAFTED HIGH IF TEAM BELIVE THEY WILL RISE IN EVERYTHING HE DOES.
SO WILL DONCIC RISE ABOVE HIS 8 POINTS PER GAME NEXT YEAR, AND RISE IN THE NBA TO 20-22 PPG (A biiiG INCREASE, since the europe- to nba transition is EQUAL at best, like history has shown?
so did i explain it for you to understand?
Equal PER MINUTE, or per36. That's one important aspect to keep in mind.
that PER MINUTE OR PER 36 is another bull... method to justify things instead of looking at the guy how average athletic he is for a SF, SG. i can name you players who with the PER stat wold average 15 rebounds per game, but do they in an actual game? hell no.
so too keep your head deep into stats and comparisions is non sense, since you have to only look at him. how limited he is athleticaly. dont bring up again the OKC game, where he went by oladipo on that one drive where oladipo reached in instead of moving along with him.
