Re: Zaccharie Risacher
So, I'm not watching French league games or anything, but I'm not sure what the appeal is for taking Risacher in the top 5. The stats are very underwhelming and that is even with him shooting it at an above average level (FT% should provide pause that he is actually a good shooter). Supposedly a good defender but blocks, steals and rebounds are nothing special. Negative A/TOV ratio. Sure it's nice that he's 6'9" and if he actually can shoot it then he's probably a useful starter, but we're talking about spending a top 3 pick on a 3/D player who might not be a good shooter, probably isn't a real impact defender, and can't do anything with the ball in his hands? That breed of 3/D wing is out of style, good role players today need to have at least some on-ball chops. I just don't get it

Risacher playing better here this second half. Team went on a big run without him but now he’s locked in playing POA defense, cutting well. Hit a nice mid ranger too. Good role player.

He turned 19 like a month ago, all this talk about he 3D players, typically those guys are found in the 20s-40s but they are already 22 yrs old ala Ben Sheppard, Strawther, Colby Jones etc..
We pick guys inside the top 10 who are young 3D guys all the time that we think will develop Cam Reddish, Deandre Hunter, Jabari Smith, Vassell..

But none of those guys would make good top 5 picks, except maybe Jabari who was an elite shooting prospect and had hope that he could become a more well rounded scorer. DeAndre Hunter feels like a good comp as someone who isn’t a bad player but got overrated by looking the part of a 3/D wing and has just never made a real impact. I will grant that ZR being much younger maybe makes him a more exciting prospect than DH, though DH was more accomplished

Re: Zaccharie Risacher
Risacher might fall in this draft. I just don't see the hype for a 3&D wing. I can see if he actually had a handle, but he doesn't. Drafting a guy top 3 he needs to have more versatility.

Hawks have to make sure they don't get into a Oden/Durant situation or Ayton/Luka situation or Edwards/Wiseman situation.

The Hawks should pick him, he's the much safer pick and he's not position blocked. Hunter just showed us, he's better off the bench in a 6th man role.

Re: Zaccharie Risacher
I think the appeal about him is his potential to become a 6'9" SG thanks to his extreme fluidity for his size, something like a bigger KCP...

Zaccharie on fire tonight with some great highlights showing he can play agressive. And shooting very well from 3 as usual.

3&D wing
Not much creation off the dribble. Can fit in any system, but I wouldn't take him in the top 3. That's just me.

Re: Zaccharie Risacher
I agree he's not a top 3 pick but in a weak draft I think he is a safe pick anywhere in the lottery. High floor, and high ceiling too given how young he is there is a room for improvement in many areas, especially physically. He's really long and fluid but he has a teenager's body, he will get stronger easily without losing athleticism.

The more I watch Risacher, the more i see him as a rich man's Bojan Bogdanović
When i started watching Risacher, i thought i would see another Klay or Reggie, but really what i saw was a better version of Bojan, the style and skill sets really pops out, especially the Detroit version of Bojan.

Nice comparison, hopefully he will have fire in his belly to improve, compete, and becomes a winner.
And sometimes people forgot that he played against the pros albeit french league is not as competitive as spanish league for example.

Re: Zaccharie Risacher
Risacher is making the leap now, I think Hawks or whoever end up with #1 pick will end up taking him.
He has 12 pts and 11 rebounds with 10 mins to go in French Semi-finals today. He just keeps piecing together good games and is clearly the best player on his team.

He went 4/7 with 5 turnovers to 1 assist...
The Hawks will pick Risacher first most likely though.

I still feel like his lack of upside will keep him from going #1. Even in a draft this weak, it is a really tough sell to a fanbase to not swing for the fences with the top pick in the draft.

6-9 forward with above average athleticism and shot and turned 19 yrs old like a month ago. If he played at UNC people would be hyping him up as a raw player that can improve. Instead we have people acting like dude is the next Cory Kispert going #1.
We did the same thing with Brandon Miller last year assuming he was only a good shooter at 6-9. I am not saying he will be next Miller, but we want to put guys into a box that have great size and NBA ready skills.
