Re: Ben Simmons
Ben Simmons will be the number 1 pick no matter who has the choice.
His stocks have taken a hit, but he was so far ahead of the next closest it's not a worry for him.
He wants to go to Lakers. It would not surprise me if they trade up if they don't get the top pick.

The over hyping happens every year. Wiggins was called the best prospect since Lebron coming into his freshman year. Well i guess its a bit simillar to Lebron.. the moment anything not so amazing happens with him Involved all the haters/distractors etc are all over the Place..
It annoys the hell out of me that everybody seems to take that yahoo article as credible source about Ben's Character..
The Writer was a huge Skal promoter(he basically started the Skal as No1 Pick hype..yeah he clearly knows young Talent^^..not) and hated on Ben even before the Season.
We can find just as many sources raving about Bens Character,BBIQ,Work Ethic,Will to Win etc..
so who do we believe?
I guess thats up to if you just happen to like or dislike Ben.. No Side(Lazy,No WIll to Win,Not a leader vs Hard Worker, mad will to win, unusual style but! a great leader)can be proven or disproven at the moment..
Ben has no big Character flaws in my opinion. He was a mixture of bored and frustrated the end of the Season. Is that what i wish from him? no of course not. I rather have him beeing Locked in 100% of the time scoring 55 in a Comeback Win over Texas.. but it didnt happen.. oh well... I will not hold giving into the Frustration of beeing on a bad Team against a 19yo Kid.
He has repeated as Higschool Champ and before won in every Setting he was in. He has not learrned to lose. He will propably need to, come his Rookie year.
I think people are just totally black and white all the time. Look at Lebron: Either he is the New GOAT or he is a total failure,a loser and should never be Mentioned in top 50 Discussions ever again. Very few people just appreceate Lebron simply for what he is without any need to rank him on the "has he become the Next MJ" scale..
Will Lebron become GOAT? propably not.. unless he does something even i as a fan of his would be suprised about.. something like beating a fully healthy 74-8 GSW Team while averaging 35/9/9 on 55% shooting or something like that.
But even if he dont ..maybe never wins another Title..
I can still love him for beeing a top 5-10 Of all time Player.. and be greatefull i had the privilege of witnessing his whole career.
It will be pretty much the same for Ben.. Alot of people will rip him down for not becoming Lebron 2.0 ...
I will just appreceate what he actually becomes. And i think nothing has changed. Look at Giannis right now.. Ben can do that too..propably a more Offense less Defense Version of Giannis. Thats not! Lebron but nothing to feel bad about.

Okafor is the the most offensively skilled big since Duncan. That isn't hype, it's fact.

Per 36.
Giannis over last 11 games: 19 pts, 8 rebs, 8 asts, 2 stl, 2 blk, 3 to
My Simmons prediction as a rook: 19 pts, 8 rebs, 10 asts, 2 stl, 1 blk, 3 to
I think he could be the first player since the big O to average a triple double for a season.
Slow down there fella. Could someone put up those stats? Yes, it's possible. As a rookie? No **** way.
I also don't think you can extrapolate Giannis to ever playmaking forward. Yes, they share traits, but Giannis is physically a much different player. Giannis has a size advantage everywhere on the court. Simmons won't.
Oops, I was going to write rook stats but decided to go with sophomore because he will be the same age as Giannis is now. Forgot to change it to soph, will edit now.
Still, you're probably not going to like this prediction either way. He would have to go close to Magic Johnson numbers.
I think Simmons is more a forward with playmaking skill than a guard in a forward's body, if that make sense. I find him to be more comparable to someone like Blake Griffin.
I think it's hard for a non-guard to get the opportunity to be the primary ball handler/playmaker, unless they undeniably prove that they are the best option on the team. That's tough to do in a rookie season.

Hm..isn't that still true? Jahlil is the most offensively skilled big since Duncan, actually he clearly has more offensive skill than Duncan did at his age (by a lot too).
Jahlil's scoring and overall offensive game is as advertised in both the NCAA and NBA. Jahlil would have been a run away ROY in 2014 and 2013.

Far from disappointment. He was a pleasure to watch while he was in college. However the moment Karl-Anthony Towns gained some steam, the media began to tear him down. Its happening now with Simmons and Ingram. The media is bringing down Simmons and proving Ingram up. When Wiggins was in college he was touted as the best prospect since Lebron, and towards the end of the season the media turned on him calling him to passive and saying things like he might not even be the best guy on his own team because Embiid's draft stock skyrocketed until injuries derailed it.
Its as if the media doesn't allow for there to be more than one outstanding prospect. One gets elevated above the rest while the others seem to be put down.

I agree with this but you called it over hyping (implying the hype was false). Jahlil deserved that hype and in hindsight he still deserved it. The media does ripping down top guys though. I mean Ingram is better than Ben? Outside of his shooting and size there's nothing I like about Ingram's game. He wouldn't have been top 10 last year (he's not beeter than Winslow IMO). Hell Jaylen is a better choice for number one IMO (outplayed him in conference play and clearly has more potential).

I wonder who Ben is rooting for in the Tournament?
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

Ben Simmons is going to put up 20, 10, 5 his rookie season while playing point guard.
He will smash 10,000 women in his rookie season alone.
He will be the first human to fly and the first to eat a group of sharks while alone in the middle of the pacific.
Never question Ben Simmons or he will be at your house tonight to take you to a forest and give you hell.

Re: Ben Simmons
Even though many NBA experts are projecting Ben Simmons to be the first overall pick in the NBA draft but it may best for him to be drafted later on in the draft. This is because Ben Simmons needs to play in an offensive system similar to that of LeBron James in order to experience immediate success at the NBA level. Where he would have the paint relatively empty so that he is able to put pressure on the defense to make a decision on whether they will double-team him or not. If the defense double-teams Simmons will most likely pass it to the perimeter for an open shot. If they do not he will shoot a jumper or drive depending on whether the defense sags off or plays close to him.
As a result of this, the Phoenix Suns seem to be the only team that is an ideal fit for him. Since the phoenix suns as currently constructed are in need of a player who is capable of using their speed and strength to put pressure on the Defense to make a decision on whether to collapse on the player or pay attention to everyone else. This is because ever since Eric Bledsoe went down with a knee injury in late December, the suns have been lacking a wing player who has the speed and strength to put pressure on the Defense. As a result, the majority of their half court offensive plays consists of 2-4 passes between the three-point line and free throw line followed by either a post up or taking a long jumper.
If the suns are able to draft Ben Simmons they will give him the opportunity to be the primary playmaker of an offense, which in turn will give the suns the dimension they had before Bledsoe got injured. As Ben Simmons will most likely receive the ball above the three-point line and will start to drive towards the basket if the Defense collapses on him will kick it out to Devin Booker or PJ Tucker for the open shot.

I wouldn't put KAT in that category tbh.
KAT has blown the socks of expectations this year. Sure, everybody know he had an impressive body and athleticism for a big, and that he had a nice jumper as well, but I don't think anybody saw him piecing it together like he has.
KAT is a top 3 valuable asset in the league (alongside Kawhi and Curry, assuming Curry resigns on your team), but his hype back in the draft wasn't standout for a projected #1 pick.

I agree. I really hope the Suns or a team like that (Denver) can draft him. Booker and Simmons would be an awesome duo to build around.
I really like Philly's franchise and think it'd be great to have a player like him on their team, but they'd have to completely rebuild around him in order to do so (for starters, Simmons and Okafor is not a good match at all). Ingram's shooting and scoring ability would be great on Philly's team as well.

Why are they not a fit? Do you think Simmons is going to play pf of something? Seems like a guy who can score and a guy that can run and pass could work?

He can do it:
4 hrs training time a day
4 hours aside for game days x 82 (expect him not to make playoffs first year)
8 hours sleep a night
4 hours aside for flights at about 100 for the year
An hour a day to get ready for stuff
So take all that out plus another 2 hours for miscellaneous each day and he can successfully lay 10,000 women giving them 5 minutes of foreplay, 5 minutes of
