That defense is elite.
I wonder if draft workouts get him near the lottery.
I think he's the Jarrett Allen or less nutty version of Willie Cauley-Stein in this draft.
Hopeful he won’t become scared to block shots because he hits his finger on the rim and it hurts like WCS.

I don’t think Beringer makes it past 15 with OKC. Think he could go as high as 12 to my Bulls.

I don't think he's quite developed enough to justify going 12 (I also don't love him at 15), but I do think the physical traits give him some nice outlier development potential. That's the reason why I made the Giannis comment - just in terms of a guy that has amazing raw tools and little basketball skill yet who could really be something if everything comes together in a perfect storm. I think more likely he fills the role if like a younger Capela if things break right. A center who can switch onto everyone and provide very good rim protection. IMO, he was very underrated.

I’d agree. I’m a don’t pick a C in the top 20 guy ala Missi last year.
Beringer is crazy raw on offense and I don’t ever see him being more than Capela.
His defensive IQ and anticipation is sky high DPOY type stuff. He covers PNR 3 diff ways in the same quarter. He stunts coverages and is a menace. He can literally make a team play completely different and adjust to him. Very few C’s can do that outside of the rim in fear of a block.
Add that to his speed and motor and I think a team like my Bulls maximizes his speed and he would help run teams out of the gym with our top of the league pace.
I’d take him over Malauch everyday. Refuse to draft a big without a motor who plays soft even with lots of offensive skills.

He's the guy I could see OKC swinging on.
I too have him as a top 20 guy. Would take him over Nique Clifford and Rasheer Flemming fwiw

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Class
There is always one player that during the season I don't really like and after the season I start watching more games and I begin to really like them. I need to look at my track record on this lol, but this year it is Collin Murray-Boyles. I would LOVE to see him in San Antonio.

the Nets, armed with four first round picks and five picks in the top 36 are putting out a series on Youtube about their preparation for the upcoming draft. Giddyup

Re: 2025 NBA Draft Class
Evans just withdrew. Would have liked him to stay, it's a soft draft class after 20 or 25, one good workout and you are a first round pick. But I'm sure the NIL money is looking very good for him.

Crazy how the NIL is killing the NBA draft middle class. Murray Boyles and Fleming could possibly be the only non freshman, senior or foreign born players to be picked in the first round.

Yep.
Why declare if you are a sophomore or junior if you are not a lotto pick. You make double the NIL money annually. NBA is all about second contract these days. That's where all the money is.

It's great for the players and devalues draft picks beyond the Lottery. Probably good developments tbh. If I were running the league it would just be one round. You know in the long run anyway, those NIL players will end up declaring, it's just a weird transition period for a few years until the pipeline develops.

Harper measured 6'4.5 without shoes. I remember some idiot earlier in the thread saying he was "definitely" under 6'4. Harper also has a wingspan of 6'10.5.

pretty much most prospects are 1-2 inches shorter than draft "experts" and the fangirls that regurgitate them were claiming. And apparently we're counting afros as height but despite that they're STILL way shorter than people are desperate for others to believe. Idiots never learn.
this class is looking really weak as we sit and we're going to lose even more guys before all is said and done

Yeah a lot of height fraud this year compared to usual among the top prospects.
Doesn't detract from their skills though. The smaller than expected players aren't pint guards which is the worst case scenario having a 6 foot flat point guard.

Is there a reason you use the term fangirls in a predominately male hobby and space?
Are you using it as a derogatory term meaning you are sexist?

is there a reason why you assume every poster on here is a man and that the term fanboy is more appropriate? Why are you assuming this is a predominantly male hobby and space especially in light of there being a massive increase in interest and fandom with the emergence of the WNBA? Seems pretty sexist no?

It is a 60/40 split of Male/Female. I am not assuming anything.
I am not the ones using Fan Girl in the tone or context you are.

no, you're the one with selective outrage where you are upset by me using fangirl instead of fanboy. I don't get it. I specifically follow talking heads, one being Krysten Peek, who seems to regurgitate "experts" like GIvony and it annoys me. That was in my mind, should I have internally changed the term to fanboy because you might get triggered by it?

Are people actually pretending like there are women here?
