rankings aren't just about ceilings it's also about likelihoods of reaching that ceiling, just b/c he said Moody's ceiling is attainable doesn't mean it's more likely than other players reaching their ceilings

He's like Jordan Clarkson with more discipline/ability to fit into a team concept. I think he's likely to be a star. I'd sure take him ahead of Jalen Johnson, if that's even a question.

Who is this Williams guy from Purdue? He looks excellent.

Doesn't seem like he can he shoot it (which is a pretty big deal) but he has everything else you want from a modern center. Really mobile, has a great motor, terrific passer, etc.

Absolutely. Great vision and a dynamic interior player. The issue is projecting him guarding on the perimeter and his lack of an outside shot. Talented post player and one of the best college big men in the country. At the worst, he is stud overseas, where his skillset is more appreciated.

Love his footwork too.

Are you referring to Drew Timme from Gonzaga? His footwork and low post moves are unguardable. Pretty under the radar as most of the love goes to Suggs and Kispert. Similar to sabonis minus the physicality.

I find it worrying that Johnson has now quit on 3 teams in 3 years, I still love his hypothetical skillset and multi-positionality, but interviews are going to be really important to his draft stock, IMO.

They should be, I agree! What good is a player with the highest ceiling if he never actually reaches it? How many players never reach their maximum potential that was talked about when they were drafted? I don't know who is closet or most likely to reach their potential, but you should be looking at both, their production now and their potential for later. It's why Cunningham is probably the best in the draft (imo).

I think he is by far the most underrated player in the draft. His ability to score with his speed and athleticism is crazy. He also clearly makes his teammates better. While I wouldn't call him a passer he creates for his teammates and is a willing passer.

Are we still pretending Mobley has no chance to be #1? Or the best player in the class?

Strange comment. There have been plenty of people in this thread touting Mobley as a potential number 1 pick. And even the people that wouldn't take him number 1, like me, would acknowledge that there's a chance he'll end up being the best player in the class. He certainly has the highest floor.

Attainable =/= guaranteed.

A better passing Chris Bosh is attainable for Mobley, Booker/Mitchell is attainable for Bouknight, etc. Almost everyone in the top 11 of this class has attainable/realistic star potential...with the biggest exception (Barnes) having elite-supporting-piece potential...that's why folks are so excited about this class.

Yeah, I feel like this board is particularly high on Mobley & his chances of unseating Cade. But maybe I just get that impression because I don't rate him quite that highly and have Cade in his own tier, a bit ahead of the pack.

I think that would bother me more if Coach K hadn't quit on that team first. As is, I have a hard time blaming him...just like I'd have a hard time blaming BJ Boston if he had bailed on Kentucky earlier in the season. Interviews will definitely be crucial for him, but if he comes across well in them this shouldn't be a huge redflag.

I was responding to the poster above me about Williams. Timme is also up there in terms of his post game. I agree.

I think he has a chance to be #1 and deserves to be in the conversation for #1. So does Suggs imo.

It is going to be a fantastic year to jump into the top 4 and being the worse team in the league and guaranteeing top 5 should be coveted.

I wouldn't complain about missing the top 5 and ending up with one of Z.Williams / J.Johnson / Bouknight / Moody / Barnes / Springer / K.Johnson

I would. Most of those players are a huge step down from the top 4 or 5.

They're certainly a step down from the top 5, but that's still a really talented group.
