Haven't seen him play yet, but PJ Haggerty's stats looks somewhat interesting for a Freshman. Any observations so far?

I'm a little bit more confident with Kobe in that respect than Darrion who is a very fringe athlete and that might be kind. But he is one of the smartest college players I've ever watched.

If he continues this torrid pace headed into the tournament, he should be getting more attention as a legit NBA prospect. This draft is so bad especially for scorers/shooters so no reason why he shouldn't climb some lists. Yeah, he's old but still...
I regularly mock him to the Magic, who are sitting at 15/16. If Corey Kispert can go around that spot why not Knecht? At least you know you're getting a shooter.

this draft is too weak at the top to not have Knecht in the lottery.

He's like Ryan Rollins 2.0

He is definitely in the lottery and most likely top 10. I would gladly take him on the jazz if we are sitting at 10.

I assumed he was? I've definitely been considering him in that territory.

Knecht is a lottery pick or close to a lottery pick in all mocks right now.

Oh is he? I've seen him in the mid 1st range looking at lot of mocks but in fairness, I haven't looked recently. I should have clarified that he should get some top 10 mention not just lottery. Somebody mentioned Kispert as a comparable. I actually think Knecht is better than Kispert in that he has more offensive versatility so if Kispert went 15 in a stronger draft, I think Knecht should get some top 10 consideration in this weaker draft.
I think his age works against him so he'll probably get the higher floor, low ceiling tag from a lot of scouts but in a draft that's so devoid of shotmakers that should give him a bump up the rankings.

I can see Dillingham cracking the top five if a team really wants a point guard and misses out on Topic, but Sheppard in the top five, or even top ten, even in a "bad" draft, would be such a big mistake. I think he can help a team, I just don't see starter potential there at all.

There is no comparison that is worse than Flip to Markkanen.
Markkanen's entire thing is that he's one of the best shooters in NBA history and an elite athlete. Flip is an average athlete and not a very good shooter. Markkanen's biggest weakness is passing which is Flip's biggest strength, what are we doing here.

Darrion Williams basketball IQ is elite. I'm pretty confident he will find a spot in the league despite his athletic ability.

LOL thankfully I haven't seen this one yet but I can guess the factors that contributed to the comparison.
Lauri Markkanen - 7'0, 240, white
Kyle Filipowski - 7'0, 248, white
Good enough for me!

Cody Williams had a great offensive game last night, but just got destroyed on defense.
Legitimately sent to the floor multiple times on crossovers.

Re: 2024 NBA Draft Thread
Where are we with the top prospects defense? Assume the top 10 overall guys are Sarr, Topic, Risacher, Holland, Williams, Buzelis, Sheppard, Walter, Dillingham, Filapowski... how do you rank them just on defense alone?

Markkanen is one of the best shooters in history?

He's a 40% three point shooter on extremely high volume and near 90% from the line at 7'0" tall so....... Obviously yes?

He's tied 41st in 3PT%, 23rd in 3PA per36 and 81st in 3PA rate this season. He's also a career 37.5% 3pt shooter.
You want to argue he's an elite shooter, no problem. One of the greatest of all time though is unnecessary hyperbole.
