A more talented Rui Hachimura. A project. Nice ISO scoring chops and mid-range touch. Excellent size & frame. Can't see the floor though. That AST to TO ratio is rough and so is his rotations on defense. Will score but will struggle mightly with the amcillary aspects. I view him as late 1st. Needs to go to the perfect spot. Will disappoint unless he goes to a team that prioritizes and excels at player development.

now shooting 33% and 26% in conference play. 41% TS. i mean, that is so off the charts bad. like almost unprecedented for a legit draft prospect - especially a 6'9" forward.

yes, he's very young and his team sucks. so some inefficiency is expected, but this bad? this is unchartered territory. 41% TS - that's a number you just don't see from any rotation player at any level.

I watched that entire game and no doubt there were good stretches where he wasnt getting the ball. But on the flip side, damn I would be at the point if I were one of his teammates where I wouldnt want to pass him the ball. That guy can be a massive black hole on offense. Im at a weird place with him because it has to be frustrating for him playing on a severely limited team compared to most SEC teams. But again he doesnt make it better with how he plays, his play style or his production.

When it comes to this video, really bad look. Dude everyone couldve told him prior to the season, what the hell are you doing going to South Carolina? That team is god awful and its not going to be a fun year. So he is at the point where he needs to lay in the bed that he made and moments like this arent a good look.

GG is the best player on that SC team. He's their best play finisher, and he should be getting the ball more. However, in recent weeks teams have figured out how to scheme for him. Teams can drop two defenders in the paint, crowd GG on the perimeter and send another guard to blindside him when he drives. It's been effective at stopping GG from getting open looks and getting to the rim. Teams have also gotten GG to give up steals and turn the ball over.

The bi-product of this is that a few of his teammates have been getting more open looks as a result of the attention GG is drawing. However, nothing SC does is going to generate more wins. There just isn't enough talent on that roster.

It's also what you get when you score at 47% TS with a lot of turnovers and not much playmaking. Not many coaches will trust a Freshman with those kind of numbers enough to draw up plays for them in crunch time. He should really be focused on improving his game and showing it to everyone on the court rather than complaining about a lack of plays for him when no other team in that conference would have given him that many opportunities with this kind of return.

Decent game for GG Jackson tonight -- 23 pts on 8/12 with 3/6 from 3pt -- after he got benched for complaining about his team on IG Live after last game.

I believe for player like GG Jackson, you kinda have to glance past the lows and focus on the highs (and the potential such highs show).

We can discount him out of the lottery due to his lack of maturity (at age 18.2 years old) and lack of efficiency (48% TS). But for anyone draft outside of the late lotto, I have a hard time seeing another player with his upside in that draft range. If your team is bad and you want to reach for the moon, there isn't a better prospect than GG Jackson.

He has some really nice flashes with a perceivably high ceiling but yeah at this point too much bad to overlook if you're drafting top 10.

To be fair to GG, this was a battle of the bottom of the barrel in the SEC. Those two and LSU are just on their own tier of suck in the SEC this year.

Ya this is how I view him as well. The efficiency is really bad, some of his playing style can be hard to watch and he has no facilitating bone in his body. But with that said, its not like he is going to drop out of the 1st round or something. He clearly has a ton of potential and way too much for him to drop too far. He is somewhere in that 15-20 range for me where exactly like you said, he has too many question marks to be taken early but if youre chillin in that 15-20 range and you want to take a flyer on a high potential guy, he is no doubt the guy in this draft.

So far, he shoots 3s, rebounds in his area, drives the ball and can finish with either hand, creates space with a dribble and shoots over wing-sized defenders, stays in front of his man defensively, and offers some resistance at the rim. Frankly, it's more than you might expect from an 18 year-old.

GG Jackson was benched again. South Carolina got blown out in the 1st half by Vanderbilt.

Then there's this...

Just catching up on this game right now. So I take the GG South Carolina thing is going to come to an end within the next week or so. Both sides look completely done with each other. I honestly dont think GG wants to be there and Paris doesnt want him on his team.
