I'm not at all surprised. I think this new generation will see a lot more player movement before and after seasons.

Dickinson to Kansas. Are they pre-season #1?

Maybe it's Duke.

With Dickinson I have Kansas easily as the #1 team. The additions of Dickinson and Timberlake to go with Harris and Adams. That is a ton of experience and a lot of talent as well.

Lance Ware also transfering out of Kentucky, they are losing Ware, Collins, Fredrick, Wheeler all to transfer portal and Wallace, Tshiebwe and Livingston to the draft

not really sure how Kentucky fans continue putting up with this lol...just a turnstile of players every year.

247 released their final high school class rankings.

https://247sports.com/Season/2023-Basketball/RecruitRankings/?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool/

Some takeaways for me.

Crazy to see the #1 and #10 player without a school this late.
Also only 15 5 star prospects in this class for them. This is usually my biggest issue with 247, they tend to have like 25+ 5 star guys in each class. The fact that they only have 15 speaks volume to how they view the class.

Overall I think the rankings are pretty solid. Holland did have the best last couple months and without anyone really taking a hold of that spot, I can see why they put him there. Im still higher on Matas than they are, but no denying he didnt really light it up this past year. Still think guys like Bradshaw get over ranked in all of these things.

Just from a Duke perspective, cool to see Power continue his climb all the way up to 15. He wasnt even a top 100 guy this time last year.

Livingston and Oscar are just testing the waters. Could return to kentucky. But yeah, they will probably be in rough shape next year - although they have rob dillingham, justin edwards and DJ wagner coming in.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

As a Duke fan I can say it gets tiresome having essentially a brand new roster every year. But at least with Duke we've been bringing in elite talent most years. UK hasnt been bringing in elite talent for quite sometime. 2018 was the last time UK had a top 10 pick in the draft and that was Kevin Knox... And Fox was their last top 5 pick.

Cal did well recruiting this year, but just so happens to be a super weak class where you dont want to have to depend on a freshmen dominant team.

beat me to it

Bradshaw is definitely overranked the same way Lively was overranked

but yea, 15 five stars is historically bad.

Yup same as Ware last year as well. I mean Lively the 2nd half of the season basically lived up to what his hype was coming out of high school. Elite defender and elite rim protector, with little to no offense. And ya he wasnt a top 10-15 guy in his class. And Ware didnt even attempt to enter the draft and is transferring. These recruiting services still just drastically over rank these raw tall athletic dudes.

Ill tell you what, this is definitely a homer take. But I wouldnt be shocked if the TJ Power climb doesnt continue throughout the college season, with how weak this class is looking.

Legit 6'8 with good mobility, is a good defender, while being a very good off ball mover and is a legit sharpshooter who doesnt need to have his feet set to get a good shot up. If he shoots it well this upcoming year, he can easily be a lotto pick in this class.

Even though as a Duke fan I would love to see him play multiple years at Duke. Lets get a Power/Flagg/Flip front court for the 2024 season!!!

yea, they are losing a bunch of guys specifically to the portal tho for some reason, last year they brought back Tshiebwe, Collins, Toppin and Ware so there was some continuity there, this year it's virtually going to be a brand new team...the 5 freshmen + the few that they will get via portal.

Seems like Kansas is getting Mgbako too.

What's the story on him? Seemingly has a decent frame and some shooting ability. Although maybe a bit stiff/static.

They will be the year after. I know Flagg and the twins are in the same class right now. But Flagg was born late December so he can reclassify. And I think most expect it’s just a matter of when not if, if he will reclassify.

Ron Holland to Arkansas rumors heating up

if they land Holland they'd have another pretty deep team next year:

El Ellis / Keyon Menifield
Tramon Mark / Layden Blocker
Ron Holland / Khalif Battle
Trevon Brazile / Jeremiah Davenport
Baye Fall
