First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

If you count his father being a genius as well, the denominator becomes even more astronomical.

So... This is your father?

This is actually a very good question.
Maybe you should carefully read what that article says.
CCIIIs Hair wrote:It is. He could have said, "After we were tested, the president wanted to meet my mom and me."
The sentence he posted should have read: "My mother and I met the president in person after we were tested."

No it isn't.
He couldn't have said that, because thats a different sentance with different intent.
I doubt the president would want to meet this fellow even if he did have a 197 iq (the president is probably a very busy individual).
Also, your sentence has bad form; the pronoun "we" in this sentence is considered hanging/ambiguous. While the sentence is not technically wrong, the generally accepted form is to place pronouns as close to the nouns they describe as possible.
Even saying "After we were were tested, the president, in person, met my mom and me" is clunky at best; there is still the same hanging pronoun problem.
Regardless, the way you commented indicated that you were listing alternatives for the subject of the provided sentence; "my mom and me" is never an appropriate subject. If this wasn't your intent, your communcation isn't clear enough (perhaps due to some of the reasons i've outlined above?)
Any incorrectly spelled words or grammar mistakes you note in my writing are typos, while yours are evidence of gross ignorance.

Now that's being a little nit-picky, isn't it? I was clearly writing from the kid's perspective. Maybe, in his mind, the president did want to meet him. Considering his track record, it isn't out of the question.
...or is it?Also, your sentence has bad form; the pronoun "we" in this sentence is considered hanging/ambiguous. While the sentence is not technically wrong, the generally accepted form is to place pronouns as close to the nouns they describe as possible.
So you're essentially arguing over nothing, then? I never said it was the prettiest sentence ever constructed, just that it contained better grammar than his original statement.
Sorry. You were turning this into a grammar forum, and I just wanted to get in on the discussion.Even saying "After we were were tested, the president, in person, met my mom and me" is clunky at best; there is still the same hanging pronoun problem.
Once again, I never said it was pretty, just that it was better than his original sentence. Would I use said sentence if I was trying to win a Pulitzer? No. Is it good enough for a message board forum? I would hope so.
Of course his sentance isn't good enough for a message board forum. Indeed someone with a high IQ must never slip, even possibly in a non native language, must uphold that image of genius unrelentingly, even on a message board.Regardless, the way you commented indicated that you were listing alternatives for the subject of the provided sentence; "my mom and me" is never an appropriate subject. If this wasn't your intent, your communcation isn't clear enough (perhaps due to some of the reasons i've outlined above?)
"My mom and me" is colloquial, but perfectly acceptable grammar, when used appropriately.
I don't particularly care to pursue this line, but I bolded the relevant part if you care to reread.Any incorrectly spelled words or grammar mistakes you note in my writing are typos, while yours are evidence of gross ignorance.
Way to spend an entire post attacking me by nit-picking a fragment of a sentence, and then trying to cover your ass at the very end by stating that any mistakes you may have made are, "Simply typos." It's a REALLY IRONIC, FUNNY STATEMENT. You acknowledge the mistakes you made, yet you're too lazy to correct them? You spend however much time dissecting a sentence fragment for the sole purpose of trying to take me down a peg, yet you can't even be bothered to run spell-check?
Thanks!
Jennings poor stats in europe were to be expected, considering he's on a pretty talented team; that doesn't make them any less disconcerting though. He's just too unknown as a prospect for us (at least me...I haven't seen him in europe) to dissect, although he DID show off really pretty court vision in the high school all star games.

If his family had IQ's like that, they would be world-renown as a family of geniuses and they would be world-known for being geniuses.

That means there are about 6 people in the world with an IQ of 197 or greater. We now know that, remarkably, three of them come from the same family.

And you have the audacity to accuse others of "making things up"?
