Just take the L today, bruh. There'll be plenty of time for your critiques in his likely long-tenured NBA career.

Great fit for him. Don’t love it as a division rival for the Pels

Memphis was the best fit for him.

I'm very confident he can replicate (and then some) Adams production and impact from the past. MEM can go from zero to hero real quick if they get healthy

Naah. Even if he's just average, chances are everyone else in the lottery will be too. He got lucky that 2024 was his senior year. This was the perfect draft to take a swing on him. Everyone will understand the talent level in this class.

And since he has great hands and can finish, all he really needs to do is be ready in the dunker's spot to eat off of Morant drives to the bucket. Consider me intrigued. He has a legit chance at ROY in this spot.

I could see it happen if he gets similar minutes to what Steven Adams got per game. 26.5 mpg for 7.5 ppg and 10.6 rpg. If Edey gets that many minutes he'll probably score 12-14 ppg just by virtue of his superior finishing, rolling, foul-drawing, and free-throw shooting. And post-up game. In Memphis, Adams shot 47.3% FT and 63.7% FG from 0-3 feet. With Zach, you'll get 70-75% FT and 75-80% from 0-3 feet.

Something like 25 mpg, 12-14 ppg, 10-12 rpg, very high efficiency, and team success could win ROY if none of the other rookies stand out.

A lot of ifs, but it's not completely unrealistic.

Without seeing the roster composition, Edey is my favorite for ROY. He's the only guy with a guaranteed path to quality minutes from Day One. All Zach really needs to do is be efficient on offense, not turn over the ball and clean the glass and he'll have all the minutes he can handle. Taylor Jenkins has proven he'll play a guy regardless of seniority if they can handle it.

I'm thinking Sarr will get major minutes by default.

But the Wizards will stink, and I'd be very surprised if Sarr out-produces Edey.

The L? He hasn’t done squat yet. A dumb team drafting him high is meaningless. Should I take the L on Wiseman and Jahlil Okafor because they were drafted high too?

Would this be denial or anger because I want to track him through the stages?

Funniest part of Big J's posting was when he pretended to have clients for his scouting reports.

So... first the problem was he wasn't going to get picked high enough to get minutes...

Now that he has been picked in the top 10 its a problem

You loved Wiseman. It's certainly fair to wait what Edey does before jumping to conclusions about what kind of NBA player he is. But it certainly must be admitted that there are NBA teams that buy into him as a good NBA player or else he would not have been drafted at #9.

Memphis matches up pretty well with the other contender teams now. Zach can defend Jokic one-on-one in the post while JJJ roams as the second lineman protecting the paint. Probably would do well against Embiid as well. Would force Gobert to be accountable for him on defense.

Good morning Grizz Nation, here is a statement by
@MattNorlander
on CBS:

“Edey’s workouts were absolutely emphatically dominant. Had two sources say they had to almost stop two workouts because he was so impressive and dominant physically”

Gobert the DPOY can’t even guard Jokic 1 on 1, but we assume that a rookie who is known for his offense is going to be able to?
