I think vincecarter4pres also nailed how his career arch will go. Although i honestly think 20ppg is realistic.

Hield may be even more prolific / ballsy as a shooter-scorer. He nails contested threes on a regular basis. It reminds me of Curry (just that element though, calm down)

I feel like a lot of the concerns and positives, physical attributes are very similar in the two, even though Beal came in as a Frosh and was more prolific and so got to the NBA earlier, more hyped and as a higher pick and coveted prospect.

Both 6'4 with solid length and above average but not great NBA athleticism. Both very good rebounders for guards at the college level. Both noted for their shooting and scoring ability and can pass with solid BBIQ, but suspect handles and aren't straight Bball geniuses. Both can work well off the ball, both come in with some great blocks for guards on D, both can get out in transition but not considered freaks, both etc., etc.

But college experience or not, Hield has hit other levels as a shooter and a lot of that should translate to the L within a few seasons. Beal's career has also been derailed in a decent part due to a lot of injuries.

But again, style of play, physical and athletic attributes, shooting abilities, etc., I think they align quite well as prospects and for NBA player comparison.

After seeing this video I'm more impressed by his ball handling than I thought. He could be a legit dribble drive threat.

I like Hield, but feel like there's a reasonable chance he has a Jodie Meeks level career.

I could see it, but think it's more likely he's at least like a Kerry Kittles for his NBA career.

Good comparison. Question is, how would a Kerry Kittles perform in today's NBA? I feel like the true shooting guard is becoming extinct. James Harden is not a true SG, Klay Thompson is probably the closest thing we have, but he's 6'7 and a top tier defender. It seems like these undersized SG's need to become effective PG's or they don't really flourish in the NBA nowadays.

I mean to me it would be where he went and what happened there afterwords.

Assuming Heild winds up like Kittles, that would be fine, as long as you had a better small forward next to him and a good point guard.

If you're looking for Kittles to be the man, that is the seasons he wasn't all that good, but when he was a cog in the machine, with a superstar point guard and established style of play that he fit perfectly, he was one of the best role players in the league, period.

That said, the Nets even in that era of the NBA were always sorely missing a wing in between Kidd and Kittles who could create in the halfcourt for himself and others.

Bottom line is though, you can do a lot worse than Kittles with a pick in the 5 to 10 range in what is being poised as a mediocre draft, unless of course the next Kobe goes 13th overall behind him.

He is lighting it up today, can't ignore that no matter what excuses some would like to have in order to lower his draft stock.

I am thinking top 5 pick as well, being drafted at the height of Curry's power should work out perfectly for him. He is known as an incredibly hard worker and therefore likely goes all out in workouts

Mclemore literally couldn't dribble the ball. Hield will be better than him.

Remember that while Buddy Hield is 6'4"; he has a wingspan of 6'9". That makes a huge difference.

Could go as high as 3
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Played a great game yesterday, started off slow, 2/8 for 7 points and in foul trouble the first half. Comes out the 2nd half and carries his team to the sweet 16. The rest of the team was stagnant and struggling and he goes 9/12, hits five 3s and drops 29 points in the 2nd half.

This draft is really not good, better than 2013 but is definitely looking below average. I have been saying for a while he is a lock for top the 10 in this draft and could potentially crack the top 5. His skill set is valuable in today's NBA.

CJ MCcollum is about the same size as Buddy Hield and he's looking like quite a commodity.

Thing about Hield and what I've heard is how much this kid just wants to get better. He's the 1st in the gym and the last. Just look how he improved from his 1st year to now. You put him with NBA develop coach. This kid can be a star for sure. He's the best guard and due to his age he goes 5-10 but IMO he should go 1-3. The Raptors or Celtics who are win now teams can use him because he can come in right away and give you 16-20 a night
