People need to cool a bit on the tourney performers.

18/19 performing well in toruney = worth a look. Upperclassmen dominating college tourney is not much to consider. Mikal is still a top 10. I wouldn't put too much weight in Nova beating crappy college schemes.

I don’t think the tourney altered too many perceptions of him. It’s a bonus that he’s contributed to 2national titles. People just realize his skill set is an absolute perfect match for the modern NBA game.

That was a really quiet almost 20 points he had last night. Kid is an assassin. I think he's tailor made for the Klay Thompson role aka the ideal complement to every superstar ballhandler ever. I'm caping for the Cavs to ban him at 8. LeBron with this kid would be majestic to watch in his twilight. Especially because his age fits Brons timeline even better than most prospects. Bron could retire at 40 right as Bridges crests his Apex at 29
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

So many Bulls fans are unhappy with tanking for a 'role player', assuming we end up around #8, and are disappointed with the prospect of Bridges. Many would prefer to give Trae a chance at that range. But I'm all in for Mikal.

That being said, I would be happy to move in to 6th/7th and snag Bamba (probably the one available). But I don't feel like it's a massive upgrade from Mikal even. Thoughts?

I think he is one of the lotto picks that will be close to a bust, at best he is Todd Day, he should have dominated college and did nothing close.

I'd take Mikal 10/10.

His shot creation wasn't really there in the tournament stage will be interesting how NBA teams project his upside.

Don't see that. Wes Johnson couldn't shoot. His shot had no rotation and looked awful.

He has some issues containing off the dribble.

Wrong

He shot 42% from 3pt.

Johnson did that in one of his 3 college seasons (also the percentage someone shoots has nothing to do with how the shot actually looks). For his career he was 35% from 3 compared to Bridges' 40%. Bridges made almost as many 3s this season as Johnson attempted during his 42% season and is a better free throw shooter as well.

I like Bridges as an Otto Porter Jr.

This is true. He's not a great isolation defender because his footspeed isn't fantastic and he has trouble maneuvering around screens due to his lack of strength. But I'm still very confident he'll be an elite defender at the next level, especially once he gets some NBA training under his belt. He has the knowledge of positioning, length, timing, and motor on the defensive end that will all translate and by all accounts he's an extremely hard worker.

he is a bit jumpy, and drags his feet, but overall I think he recovers really well and puts in effort, I expect him to be much better defending smalls than forwards early on

Love what he said when he declared. I would still take him top 5, huge fan. He won two championships guys. Winning matters.

It seems like he'll struggle a lot to contain NBA wings, and his creation is extremely limited (not even sure he can do the whole 'two dribbles and make a good decision' off a closeout.) And he's definitely not the type of shooter who you have to chance around the perimeter and for whom every shot--even with a fadeaway with a small glimmer of space--is a good shot. (I know he sometimes made tough shots at Nova but I don't think you want him taking those as a first or second option).

There's still a lot to love about his length and shooting, just think people might be trippin a little bit seeing him as a surefire elite role player. He could be Khris Middleton but he'd need to get a lot better at shooting in traffic and in small spaces (again I know he has shown that ability some times but a guy like Middelton can do it every play and with enough efficiency that it's a good shot).
