He is. He has the same size as Donovan Mitchell, he’s probably a little bigger. He’s one of the best defenders in college basketball, has NBA speed and athleticism and he’s a good shooter.

For me personally, I had a hard time making free throws. I was a defender and rebounder and my coach liked having me in at the end of games so he worked with me a lot on making free throws and for some reason I could never make them in game. Sometimes players just can’t do it. Even when i play pick up now I can’t make free throws (we shoot free throws to pick teams). I sympathize for players that can’t make them, but in the NBA it’s clearly a big issue. IMO it has nothing to do with personality, work ethic, and mental stability. It’s about how strong muscle memory is and if you can project where the basket is. If I could jump at the free throw line I would probably make more free throws. I just feel really uncomfortable shooting with my feet on the floor.

You can jump though right? There's no rule saying you can't - just so long as you don't cross the line obviously.

No, you can’t jump shooting free throws.

I'm fairly certain you can.

No, you can’t jump shooting free throws.

In addition, the shooter must release the ball within five seconds (ten seconds in the United States) and must not step on or over the free throw line until the ball touches the hoop. Players are, however, permitted to jump while attempting the free throw, provided they do not leave the designated area at any point.

There's absolutely no rule that says you can't jump - the only rule is that you can't step/land on or over the line.

Well then I should have been doing that. I never even considered doing that because I thought it was illegal.

I’m using my phone right now so I can’t. I tried copying the whole thing and it’s a pain in the ass. I got near the end and everything I had highlighted disappeared. Sorry.

Donovan Mitchell was 5.1

Anyway, I really cannot see Alize Johnson slipping to the second round. He’s really good. He can be a two way player — he’s really fluid on both offense and defense. He has great technique with his footwork, with rebounding and with boxing out. Like elite technique. He doesn’t always shoot well, but when he does he can do it off the dribble or coming of screens — like a wing. He has a pretty strong handle too. And his vertical is insane. I cannot see him failing. On top of all of that he’s a beast on the boards.

Crazy to think that we got a guy who was considered number 1 pick eligible in this draft whos not even playing currently. Its easy to not think about him when you see the performances of Doncic and basically everyone in the NCAA this year. I cant remember a class that had this many players at the top being huge producers during the season.

-Doncic doing things that nobodys done at his age in Euro ball.
-Trae Young and Bagley put up video game stat lines in the NCAA.
-Ayton just consistently dominating with those sick mesureables
-Jaren Jackson JR is basically the perfect current nba big. Sick rim protecting with the ability to shoot long range
-Mo Bamba is Rudy Gobertish

I thought some of these guys numbers would fall off when conference play started but instead they just keep looking better.

Then you got guys like Sexton,Carter JR,MP JR who look like they've got some legit all star+ potential. Guys who were top 10-late lotto last season in Miles Bridges and R.Williams. Mikal Bridges has really added to his game.

This is one STACKED draft.

Yeah, I agree. I have such a hard time moving Porter Jr past top 3, but it’s hard when there are other players playing really well. Doncic is really really good, I still kind of fear his defensive ability.

Keenan Evans has been tearing it up recently. I wish I hadn’t given up on him so soon. I need to watch his games. At first glance he’s slow and goes to get much lift on his jumper, but he reminds me a lot of George Hill. He controls the ball and the thinks the game really well. He did a great job avoiding Bamba and drawing fouls with just awareness and intelligence.

Fletcher McGee also killed North Carolina. He’s also a beast and should be a first round pick. He has NBA moves.

My four sleepers now: Alize Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Fletcher McGee and Keenan Evans. Now I just need a center to make my all-sleeper starting lineup. Although I’m still not too high on Evans.

Did my first Mock about a week ago, a lot has changed since then obviously.

I'm intrigued to see how far Melton drops after being eligible for only like eight games. Seems like Shake Milton is a guy I like more than others, same with Tra Holder as well.

What do you mean? Melton has been suspended for the entire season in mid-January, or did I miss something?

Actually, I want my Warriors to pick him up. We need someone who play some back-up PG minutes who can ideally also play alongside Curry for some time. That player should be able to be productive in a low-usage role off the bench and that's what Melton has done for USC last year. Tenacious defender, good size, good passer with vision, can run the floor. Shooting is the main concern with him but he has the potential to hit at least open shots at a decent-enough rate to contribute.

Sucks what happens to him this year. By all accounts, he doesn't seem to have done anything wrong and the ineligibility to play might have caused his draft stock to plummet. So, what would be better than being drafted/signed by the Golden State Warriors with the prospect of actually playing some relevant minutes to make up for his horrible year? Oh, and he also happens to be from California.
