Kenyon Martin Jr. is opting out of college to pursue pro options.. 'interesting' move for a 3* recruit.

I don't know much about him apart from his dad, ofc, but from what I can tell, he's athletic, but he's an undersized PF (6'6 or 6'7) and doesn't have an offensive skill-set or even basic jump-shot at this stage. Anyone know anything more?

Hard to imagine where he'll be able to play pro and make an impact. The rumor is the NBL's Next Star program but I think that's just here-say at this point, would imagine he'd struggle to get any minutes at that level of comp, at least yet. Maybe it makes sense if he is willing to spend multiple years overseas to hone his game.

USA won the FIBA Americas U16, handling Canada relatively easily in the gold medal game. Top American prospects (numbers in per 40):

Chris Livingston - (30.9 points, 16.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.1 steals, 2.1 blocks) 6'6 athletic wing, when he's on he makes the game look really easy. Somewhat raw in half-court offense but he can shoot a little, has some good one-on-one moves, and is an outstanding offensive rebounder for his size/position. Made his presence felt on the defensive end as well.

Jalen Duren - (22.5 points, 17.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 4.4 blocks) 6'9, long, strong, athletic, great hands, good rebounder and finisher. Nothing too flashy about his game (he's not a shooter and he clearly doesn't have much experience guarding on the perimeter yet) but he had some pretty quick spin moves in the post and did a good job of finding the open player when the defense collapsed on him. Probably wouldn't waste time recruiting him if 2022 is the last year for one-and-dones.

Jabari Smith (30.7 points and 13.7 rebounds, 55/38/78 shooting splits) - 6'8 long, versatile 3/4 who can make you pay from behind the arc if you leave him open. Seems to be growing into his frame still, but his rebounding and shot-blocking are pretty solid and once he bulks up and gets tougher he'll be a major problem. He's definitely one of the top 5 prospects in the high school class of 2021 despite emerging onto the scene relatively recently.

AJ Griffin - (29.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 7.0 steals) 6'7 physical and aggressive wing in the mold of a Justise Winslow. More of a shooter and less of a passer than Winslow at this stage. Commits some silly fouls by being overly aggressive but makes some highlight steals/hustle plays.

The best non-American prospects were Jean Montero (Dominican Republic) and Caleb Houstan (Canada), but I only watched them against team USA and hadn't seen them before, so I don't have much to say about them other than that they were definitely good enough to have made the American team as well and could be big-time college recruits if they went that route.

Could definitely see it given neither of the brothers went to college.

Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs, and Ziaire Williams all made the U-19 World Cup team as rising high school seniors. At least 5 2021 lottery picks in that group, and Cunningham and Mobley would be the favorites to go 1-2.

The more I watch this class, the more Im thinking this has a chance to be a special class. Mobley, Cunningham, Green and Johnson are my standouts right now. The more I watch Cunningham the more I think he has a chance to be really special.

The Cunningham hype is really surging at the moment, and from the clips I've seen, for good reason. There was a lot of momentum for guys like Green last year, is Cunningham clearly a better prospect? Because Green looked damn good when I checked him out.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Cunningham the past few months.

Having never seen him play but hearing people talk about him it sounds like he’s a great passer and does everything well he’s just not a dominant go to guy level scorer is that fair?

He's not a prolific outside shooter but he can score. He looks to drive and will go all the way to the basket and dunk if there's not a crowd there to stop him, he'll post up on smaller guards, and if you give him a wide-open shot he'll take it and make a decent amount.

Cunningham plays a lot like Doncic, maybe without the all time great touch

it was Green, then Mobley, now Cunningham, well see where it is in a couple months

Its not that Green hasn't still been playing great, but damn Cunningham has just been on a different level the last few months. The control and feel for the game he has is pretty ridiculous. I also really like the potential with his shot as well, I really like the form on his jumper. He's my #1 guy right now.

I can see him single handedly dragging Oklahoma State to the tournament.

Yeah I've never considered Green the #1 player in the class and Mobley has been the consensus #1 for quite a while. Cunningham is just getting to show that he can be a legitimate lead ballhandler after being on a stacked high school team where he shared the ball more and deferred to seniors. He'll definitely be in the running for 1st team all-America and NPOY as a freshman, he's that productive already.

I was hesitant on the hype when the highlights came out because we all know how that worked out for Thon, but I agree, the more I've seen and read, the more legit he seems. Does all the dirty work but can stretch out and do the modern big stuff as well. Seems to have a better frame, more coordinated/fluid, and a more natural shot release, imo, compared to his cousin.

Jaylen Suggs flat-out sucks. Barnes and Green flash potential but need to show a lot more – and more consistently – for me to fully buy in. They look like solid talents but nothing franchise-altering. Cunningham looks solid and shows clearly the most promise, but he'll have to develop a comfortable pull-up game at some point soon.

Very USA basketball type of half in the first half of the gold medal game vs. Mali. Slow start, 19 offensive rebounds and 1/10 on threes. To make it even more USA basketball like, they'll just go on a big run in the 3rd quarter.

Australia's u19 would've been a lot of fun if they brought in any of their US based talent - Makur Maker, Josh Green, and Jayden Stone, namely.

Unfortunately the best we can put out there is Froling and Wigness and that only got us so far.

Does anyone have a feel yet for the top 21’ guys?
